accuweather's crystal ball

Monday, Apr 16
High: 45 °F RealFeelŪ: 31 °F
Windy and rainy
Monday Night, Apr 16
Low: 37 °F RealFeelŪ: 22 °F
Cold with rain mixing with snow

Now is it really that bad? So I won't be showing off in a singlet, will be wearing gloves and a hat, and I think it will make the champagne, beer and other assorted libations all the better after the race. I'm just planning that the wind will be at my back.

We can SEE you there, busiman! We KNOW you are looking!

Various 10-day forecasts I've read are similar:

High of 49 degrees and partly cloudy. 20% chance of precipitation.

I'd be more skeptical if that wasn't the same darned forecast for the next 10 days. It just seems like we are in the midst of the doldrums and aren't budging anywhere...

This is Boston, right? Isn't the weather forecast supposed to change drastically about eighty hundred more times?

Weather be darned. I'm still showing up with an outfit for any possibility. Hope they make the check bags bigger this year.

Hey, I live in Minnesota -- as long as it's above 20 -- shorts and a singlet. I hope they are giving away those nice throwawy gloves again.

I hope the forecast holds.... my ideal running conditions. It's not that I actual enjoy the wind and rain, but I always set PR's when the weather is at is worst! (It would be nice to have sun while were hanging out waiting to start, though)

okay hermosaboy, if you can wear a singlet at that temp, this warm weather west coaster can also. can I wear a long sleeve underneath or is that against fashion policy?<HR>

winejunky, you're running Boston. YOU set the fashion policy, you don't follow it. Wear whatever you need to wear! Good luck to all the runners, both picking out the gear and running.

That's a summer day for us Canadians...might be too warm.

Whatever it is bring it on...

---> Well, here's the long range computer prog for Monday morn:

Interpretation: See that huge psychedelic blob over New England? That's an incredibly powerful meganor'easter. If this forecast verifies, 'thon conditions would be stormy and cold. Actually, if the timing of this is totally accurate, system would be just blowing by the Boston area early Monday, implying that the worst of the storminess would be over.

> Caveat: This is an 8.5 day forecast; thus, should be taken with an entire shakerful of salt. Two things I've observed about this particular computer model: [1] Has a tendency to move systems along a bit too quickly; [2] Tends to forecast larger perturbations more accurately. Given [1] and [2], looks like there's a fairly good chance of next Monday being a stormy one in New England.

> That's the latest from the Weather Desk. Stay tuned; will try to update weather spaghetti during the week. . . . .
