{{{{{{beautiful baby Haven}}}}}}

mrpat, she's gorgeous. She'll be home where she belongs before you know it.

Did ok over Easter weekend, had a good day and workout tonight, then cae home and was over-hungry so munched and nibbled while making dinner... had a couple batches of popcorn while balancing checkbooks and doing other paperwork stuff. Oh well, I know it's not fattening "per se" but it does lead to lots of water retention which oh boy I just love. sigh I sure love it though... NO chocolate in our house for Easter, can you believe it? Can tell I have teenagers who just don't care.

Hi
My update is, I have started running a bit more still on injury recovery but getting a lot better. Stayed of the chocolate over Lent, had my easter egg Sunday and still eating it but I think and hope I could be of the chocolate again, well by the end of the week. I now feel as if every time I eat chocolate I am just eating fat.
I had gone up to 201lbs today I was 196lbs
Thanks for this thread Lynne

MrPat - She is just beautiful! Thanks for sharing the photo's with us.

Roy - How big is that egg?? I know what you mean about just eating fat. I looked at my candy jar last night full of jelly beans (that I do not like) and a few chocolate eggs. I decided that I really didn't need one after much thought.

I made chicken with rice for dinner last night - DD#1's favorite dinner. Afterwards I practiced tap dancing with my sister so I think I burned a few of the gravy calories away. Day #2 of forgetting to bring my fresh fruit with me. Guess I better plaster a note somewhere tomorrow so I don't forget it again!

Mr Pat, how precious. Don't you just love the sight, touch and smell of a little baby?

Easter is finally gone, let's see.... food holidays we've had to get past recently??? December - Christmas. January - New Years February - Valentines Day. March - my birthday??? April - Easter.

So that means clear sailing until July, right? Oh wait, next month is Mother's Day!

Actually, with spring here and most of the major holidays over, it's a great time to see progress on being healthy, getting fit and staying active. I love this time of year!

Roy, that must be some huge egg!

Mary, at first glance I thought I read you did some "lap dancing", but it was "tap dancing"! I was thinking, where do you learn lap dancing?? I want to learn that! But tap dancing is fun too.

Eliz, you can do it, even with the temptations around.

Erika - these have been on the market for a long time, but have you had the popcorn rice cakes before? My son and I love them and they are only 30 calories each. Some people may feel it's like eating cardboard, but the popcorn one's are pretty decent and way less calories then so many other treats. My 6yr old loves them!

Well gang, it's Tuesday, lots of time left this week to make progress and make good decisions.

Sherie

Yes, popcorn rice cakes are yummy... I like the Safeway brand kettle corn mini-cakes... 8 of them are only 50 calories, and I usually just nibble 4 at a time or so. We have a microwave popcorn gadget where you put in your own oil (or not, so like air popped), seasoning (garlic salt, yum!) and loose popcorn (1/3 c per batch). Three minutes or so in the microwave and it's done! Yum. I'm a total addict. Not calorie dense, but I can pack away a couple of batches in a night, requiring several glasses of water and resulting in puffy fingers the next day! I'm hopeless. Oh well, it's better than a bag of chips and dip, I guess. No trans fats, all whole grain and healthy fats so there could be worse afflictions. Sure doesn't help to do that a day or so before weigh in!! I'll hold off tonight, have tea after dinner, and go from there.

As for "what's next" on the food scene, it seems like everyone we know has a "welcome spring" barbecue planned in May. Also, Memorial Day is full of grilling events... but I'm ok with those. Love grilled chicken, fish and veggies!! Can't wait... but it's snowing again today!

Roy, I didn't get any chocolate for Easter, so if you need help, you can send your egg my way...!

I swear that I could almost live on popcorn! What I really enjoy for an afternoon snack is the 100 calorie individual microwave bag, and then I squirt on the zero calorie butter spray (Parkay) for some added flavor.

I like those popcorn and rice cakes too. My husband thinks it is like eating styrofoam.

Salad and crackers for lunch today.

Not a popcorn fan here, I like the smell better then I like the stuff.
Well, wait a second. I do like real popcorn popped in oil on my stove and then topped with real melted butter and a sprinkling of salt.
But I don't make it that way anymore

Doing fine with the lower carbs and calories so far. Yesterday was just under 1300. Carbs were 43.5% instead of the 55 that they recommend (which I never got to anyway ) that nutritionist said were too much.
Not that I didn't have any complex carbs, I had brown rice for dinner and meusli for breakfast. Salad for lunch rather then rice and veggies with protein. And cut out the dry cereal snack (very low sugar) after dinner in favor of cottage cheese.

Training with Keith after work, cardio first.

Barb - this is what I had for dinner Easter night. My kids will say "mom, will you make your popcorn"? I can't blame them though as they weren't even home - it is a once a month treat for myself and the dogs.

Oh yes Barb, I remember! Like you said - probably just as well.

I remembered my fruit today! Last night's dinner was a couple of scrambled eggs, 2 english muffins (was only going to have one, but then there was only one left so I thought I should eat them both), and some fruit.

Doing good.

I love an omelet for dinner sometimes. Oh darn, that reminds me that I forgot to buy my GimmeLean Sausage Style at TJ's.I even made a list but that didn't make it on there, no wonder I forgot it. Anyway, a nice omelet with some of that chopped up and browned with some lowfat cheddar or feta and whole grain toast, quick and satisfying.

I am comfortably in work pants that I wouldn't wear a month ago.
Hope in another month they will be too big.

I have read all of the comments on this weeks thread but am a little too preoccupied to remember what was said or comment on the specifics, but I do wish you all the best with your healthy eating and weight control goals. A s for my weight I haven't weighed myself but feel heavier and have eaten more than usual and that combined with tapering means a few extra pounds but I will deal with that after Boston.

Thanks for all of your kind comments about Haven, she continues to improve but is still on a feeding tube and her blood count and muscle tone were a little off. She is scheduled to come home either next Monday or Wednesday depending on how she does between now and then. We can't wait to have her home with her parents.

My DW, MIL and GD Brooke are going to Boston with me and are alot less enthusiastic about it now that Haven has been born and the brutal weather forecast has not helped . . . Oh well this will be an adventure we will all remember.

Yeah Barb on the work pants!! My pants are a little more comfortable - but I'd still rather have them MUCH more comfortable.

MrPat - Do us proud in Boston!! I imagine the other circumstances (weather & Haven) would mix up the feelings a bit. Everyone will have a good time though and have stories to tell.

Last nights dinner was some almonds and flat pretzels with cheese. Almonds would have been enough, but I had the munchies after dance class. She made us work hard enough that I don't think I did any damage though. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.

Does anyone ever get the SouthBeach Diet wraps for lunch? They are so good and pretty filling. Full of fiber which is what I like about them too.
