8 miles at 10:16 pace started around 4:15 am. About 8 weeks out from the Bayshore Marathon in Traverse City.

We should ask what time you go to bed?   That is one early rise time!

All these intervals are making me tired.  Not that I ran any of them.  Just a sproinky 5 @ 8:32.  Third day in a row of perfect 30F running weather.  Rain and warmer temps forecast.

Re: Wed Apr 11 Boomer Runs

sheak, you will not believe how your kids will change after being away at college for a while -- it's quite an experience to see it happening.

As hopeful mentioned, it was sub-freezing with an Easterly wind this A.M., but I figured I'd better up my training level a bit to get ready for a half-M that I was arm-twisted into entering in early June. So I ran 6 fairly sproinky miles, which is a long run for me on a working day.

Interestingly, my first experience with AAMix1 on my MP3 player lasted exactly as long as my run, and I walked back into the Rec Center to the dying strains of "Amazing Grace". Good job on the mix, Dave, but I'll have to talk to you about the lyrics on a couple of those songs. !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/wink.gif|border=0!

Re: Wed Apr 11 Boomer Runs

Good morning.

The Beer Family has a full day in before I even wake up.

I normally attend a community track practice on Wed. nights but I had to rearrange my schedule due to a banquet and awards thingy at work. So I rolled out of bed at 7:20 (not exactly PDR's 3:20 a.m.) and managed 3.5 rather energetic miles. I was pretty happy with how it went considering I wasn't fully awake for the first mile. Maybe that's the key. Anyhow, we got a couple of inches of snow in the night and it's still snowing. But back to 60s and 70s this weekend!

Re: Wed Apr 11 Boomer Runs

It's raining and blowing hard from the East.  I won't run today unless someone is chasing me...  I am OVER this crappy weather!  !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/mad.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/mad.gif|border=0!

Hitting the bike this afternoon.  Should still get my 20 miles in this week, though. Tim C.

Re: Wed Apr 11 Boomer Runs

Wow, PDR sure is an early riser!  I cannot get myself out of bed any earlier than 6:00 a.m. and it is generally more like 6:30.  I can't imagine being out the door at 3:20.  I once made out for a long run at 4:00 a.m. and that was scary enough!

As others have mentioned, it is blowing like crazy outside today - from the SE here. Nevertheless, with temps at 45 degrees and some sun, it was worth running outside even though half of the run was into the crazy wind. Like PBJ, just 7 easy today. I'm still dripping like crazy and not holding out great hope for the half marathon.

Some very nice intervals today for folks. I hate intervals so kudos to any of you who can make it through an interval workout feeling good.

Sending out healing vibes to Sheak. I hope you get some relief soon.

Meg

Re: Wed Apr 11 Boomer Runs

Morning Boomers!

I'm running late this morning. Good runs already! Healing vibes to all in need! We're in the midst of a spring snowstorm (and that should be an oxymoron). We weren't supposed to have any accumulation, but it's been snowing steadily since I got up at 5:20 AM. Yes, the snow is accumulating! Cold stiff wind from the east (what's up with that?). Just a delightful spring day. The cold weather has trashed the beautiful forsythia, and the daffodils are aren't exactly pleased. The goldfinches, purple finches, snow juncos, chickadees and nuthatches are eating us out of house and home. If the ruby-throated hummingbirds have any sense at all, they won't show up until July or August.

Done ranting, I think. 6 miles on the treadmill this morning.

Good runs to all, and best of luck to all the Boomers running that little race on Monday!! Wish I was going to be there with you. Can't wait for the race reports.

Re: Wed Apr 11 Boomer Runs

PDR – Just as I was grumbling (inwardly, not to him) about having to get up at 4:30 now to accommodate my husband’s walking before my runs, I see you up at 3:20 am.  Now I can think,”I’m sleeping in late, compared to PDR.”   !http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|src=http://www.coolrunning.com/forums/smile.gif|border=0!
