Weather forecast for BOSTON :(

I know it's early (Wednesday) but the forecast is beginning to look really bad for us. Apparently a large Noreaster is on the way with driving rain and a wall of wind that we'll have to contend with. All I know is I'm already planning on finding the largest person to tuck in behind Hopefully the forecasters are wrong!

I would be more worried about a hot day... And I think they are just guessing this far out.

This is from a local (coastal NH) weather forecaster:

"Saturday sees us warming now with increasing clouds and a late shower as a major new storm forms down over Georgia, in a radical change from recent model runs, which previously had the low over the Ohio Valley. This new low tracks up off the coast of NJ and exploding by Sunday evening, and the day itself will be a real challenge as a result. Right now the models show some accumulating snow and rain mixed, but we'll wait and see if this storm is even a real threat. Major solution changes like this can be passing fancies. Sunday night and Monday see the low tracking very slowly eastward as it is quite huge in size. Nearly 2 ½? of water is due from this very potent visitor."

NOAA is calling for heavy rains in Boston on Sunday, with a 50% chance of rain on Monday, and a high of 48.

As Ray said, it's too early to nail this forecast. A lot can change in 5 days (and it often does), so stay tuned!

OK being a New England native and all I know that the weather around here can change at the drop of a hat but this just sucks!

Take a look at what the local TV Stations are broadcasting:

"The Boston Marathon has never been postponed because of weather, but Burbank said there's a chance this year's race could be in jeopardy."

Could they be a little more dramatic?

Just remember, it is all about ratings.

How could they postpone an event like that with so many individual participants from out-of-town who have specific hotel reservations, flights, etc., etc.?

In any case, my observation on long-range weather forecasts is that things almost always move more slowly than predicted, and rarely more quickly. So if they're forecasting the bad weather to move in on Sunday night or Monday, you might find that it will get there a day or so later. Hopefully!

We can't control the weather. Bring the appropriate various clothing options and as my favorite shirt says:

Shut Up and Run!

Yup, what hermosaboy said.

Heralding from the Rainforest, more of the wet stuff will keep the moss on my northern-facing side nice and fluffy and green.

Since I did NOT sign up for this, the weather SHOULD be good.

Races I did sign for :
Boston 04 - 86 degrees
Hartford 05 - 5 inches of rain (during! the race)
Timberman half iron - Drenching rain and wind, waves and whitecaps.

Of course by organizing the Boston water stop I may be involved just enough to ruin everything for everybody.

Sorry,

The rougher the better. Think how much more entertaining the race reports will be.

If it's going to rain -- I just hope it waits until 10:45 to start. I don't mind running in the rain, but starting the run in the rain is a pain!
