Good Luck To the Boston Boomers!

Seems like we have quite a crew heading up this year. I'm with you guys in spirit and will be following everyone closely from my computer at work.

Seems like the weather may be something less than optimal, but as a wiser man said, it should be a memorable experience.

Not sure if someone has a list of all the Boomers bib numbers, but it would be nice to get all of them together so we can all follow your progress.

Ray (not #1358).

Ray, I'm really sorry that you won't be able to swim I mean run Boston with us this year. Thanks for the well wishes and we will be thinking of you as well.

Illene posted this on the "B&B Intrepid Racers Thread:

It lists all the Boomers with their race numbers etc.

Good luck everyone.

Re: Good Luck To the Boston Boomers!
Ray,

Thanks for the good wishes. They really mean a lot. I usually get antsy before a race but I am really nervous for this one, which is probably a good thing if I keep things in check.

I a bit dissapointed since PR's are not in the cards but in some ways relieved because PR's are not in the cards so that I can just soak in the atmoshphere and the history of the Boston Marathon legends.

We will be thinking of all you Boomers as we run. Potentially dreading the RR after the race.

Take care
Tall

Re: Good Luck To the Boston Boomers!
Been mostly hanging out in another forum but... Wanted to share in the Boomer cooperative mojo here! I'll be out there on Monday (#10881) in my garbage bag fighting the elements -after all, "this is not baseball!"

Best of luck to all the boomers! Keep your head straight - this is the party you've been waiting for! Don't let a little rain ruin it for you. It's only water - heck, they baptize babies in the stuff, how bad can it be?

Loved the post somewhere that said - this is Woodstock and you're Jimi Hendrix. Now get out there and kiss the sky!!!

Woooooooohoooooooooooooo!!!

Good luck to all the BostonBoundBoomers!

Everyone at work knows I get the tv in our break room Monday a.m. and during the afternoon rebroadcast, plus I'll be plugging in bib numbers throughout the a.m. to see how everyone's doing. good thing I'll be working where i have a faster computer to do that stuff instead of slow dialup at home. sort of nice I get paid to watch the marathon too

I am thinking someone should dump a bucket of water on Dark Horse every mile so he can really experience this year`s Boston marathon. Good luck with the weather in Kosovo.

Re: Good Luck To the Boston Boomers!
Thanks, Ray, for your kind words. I remember some of your long runs through ice and sleet over the winter months, so I hope you can channel your steely resolve to those of us who may need a sprinkling on Monday.

Oh, what am I saying? We'll be fine. We're all tough as nails. Still, give us a "Yip!" as we cross over the timing mats.

Hope Dark Horse is enjoying the lead-up to Bostovo. I have an inkling he may just be.

Re: Good Luck To the Boston Boomers!
This is such an exciting time in Boomerland every year! I feel as though I actually know some Boston Marathoner's! Even though we haven't met in person - each and every one of you feel like part of my extended family and I wish you all the very best on Monday.

Now - go get 'em!!

Splish, Splash, I'll be taking a bath, long about a monday morning.

Good racing Boston Bound Boomers.. "BBB"

I'll be thinking about you all, wishing I was there too. But, with the move to the PNW it just wasn't to be this year. Anyway I had my fun in the gusty head winds.

Have fun, enjoy every step, smile the whole way and thank those volunteers.. Oh, ya, try and count the ^5's to the kids.
