Great pictures. I bet that beer tasted really, really good. Congrats to all the runners and support crew!

Edited to fix spelling, again. I could spell as a kid.

Love all the pics!!! It was great that you were able to coordinate the aid station. I know when we did that up in Portland, it was so much fun and I'm sure the runners looked forward to their very own drinks and snacks if needed.

Pro ? how you seemed to effortlessly put this water stop together is beyond me. Having the bottles labeled with a runner?s name, number and time expected as well as any additional gear is what made it possible to hand off supplies.

Hally/Barb, TomNally, Mr Sans Souci, Jane, Dale and Nowor ? what a fun group you are.

Highlights included:

∑ Hally keeping track of list. Who was taken care of and who would be up next.
∑ Nowor and her little friend who were determined to find WA5YOM.
∑ LeftRightRepeat running up to Pro and demanding a hug
∑ Mr Sans Souci spotting Sans mid-bite into a sandwich and earlier than expected ? outstanding!
∑ The Pro-team hanging out with the Soucis and MCSolar after the race!

And some Dalisms ?

∑ ?Bobbing head ? oh that?s bad?
∑ ?JJ is the best ? I am really proud just to be seen standing next to him?
∑ ?You runners rock!? X 500
∑ ?Pro ? you are da bomb?

Suggestions for next year ? runners, please print your race number largely across the front of your t-shirt. We are boomers ? need I say more?

LaT-You're just great! (um, but I thought we had a deal--no quotes) Sorry I hurt everyone's ears from screaming and whistling. I have very little voice today. My patients seem to like me lecturing at them less than my usual amount...hmmmm.

It was a blast, wasn't it?

How nice to arrive home to pictures
Notice the paper I am holding in the picture with Dale and JJ, that was Pro's fantastic idea of folding the printed list of the bib#'s names and ETA and putting it inside of a ziploc bag. My pictures came out kind of carpy so I won't bother posting.
I forgot about the hug La T, that was pretty funny. I also forgot about the midsandwich SS siting. And Dale does kind of look like a rockstar doesn't he.

I hate it when I have to do this, but if someone doesn't step up and police this site it won't stay under control:

Dr. Dale, you are a good guy and we all love you, but I must remind you this site is Boomers and Beyond for those 40 and over. It says so right in the thread description. I think your sneaking in here the past few years has largely gone unnoticed because there haven't been any pictures, but faced with the obvious evidence, what is your plan? How about what others think? Shall we let the kid stay? Your call. Spareribs

I couldn't figure out who the cute guy in red was and figured someone must've brought their son along.

Thanks for the greta pictures. Looks like everyone was having a crackin' good time! I wish I could've helped out.

The bar has been set high for the Eugene crowd...

Good golly...I would never listen to advice from a cardio who looks young enough to be one of my kids.

I think I'll form a band...

Best Of You-- Lyrics
Artist(Band):Foo Fighters

I?ve got another confession to make
I?m your fool
Everyone?s got their chains to break
Holdin? you

Were you born to resist or be abused?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Are you gone AND onto someone new?

I needed somewhere to hang my head
Without your noose
You gave me something that I didn?t have
But had no use
I was too weak to give in
Too strong to lose
My heart is under arrest again
But I break loose
My head is giving me life or death
But I can?t choose
I swear I?ll never give in
No, I refuse

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Has someone taken your faith?
Its real, the pain you feel
Your trust, you must
Confess

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Oh...

Oh
Oh
Oh
Oh

Has someone taken your faith?
Its real, the pain you feel
The life, the love
You'd die to heal
The hope that starts
The broken hearts
Your trust, you must
Confess

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?

I?ve got another confession my friend
I?m no full
I?m getting tired starting again
Somewhere new

Were you born to resist or be abused?
I swear I?ll never give in
I refuse

Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Has someone taken your faith?
Its real, the pain you feel
Your trust, you must
Confess
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Oh...

Dr. Dale, you can borrow some of my years. -- better yet, you can have them. Should at least get you close.

This thread has me smiling all over. greta job, Pro, hydration crew, & of course, all runners!

eta-- we didn't know he could write tunes like that. could be taken into consideration. but don't tell him. I still like my idea.

I just wanted to say a big
THANK YOU!!!!
to Pro and his fine crew at the Boston Water Stop!!!!!

I was figuring to take a gel at that time, so I planned to use the H2O received at the water stop to wash it down. Sure enough, Hermosaboy spotted the banner and we pulled over to the left.
I had my gel out, and then I believe that Stuart?? handed me the banana and water. I put the banana in my pocket, and was trying to fiddle with the water and gel pack at the same time.
Needless to say, the banana fell out of my pocket, becoming another Newton Hills casualty.
Hermosa was very generous in sharing some banana with me after he heard me exclaim, "Oh sh!t, I lost my banana"....

Thanks again Pro, Stuart, and everyone who was there, showing some Hugh Boomer support when we really needed it!

Pro and crew -

You guys and gals were the best! You have no idea what sort of a surge of energy seeing the flag gave me. Of course, you probably heard me, as I screamed "Boomers!" over and over again.

That gatorade with my race number on it was magical. I really felt special, and felt strong the rest of the race. If there is ever another Boston marathon that I don't run, I will gladly volunteer to be one of Pro's assistants.

By the way, the PBJ family ended up having dinner with Tall & company (and he didn't kill me). He is on a top secret two week mission, and all I can say is Dark Horse - be careful.

Race report to follow.

"Run like a fool!"

Ok, I'm kind of competitive by nature. So.....Let's see some kind of report from the "other" dinner! Pictures too! Else I will declare it fiction. Like a made up story from people who were too tired to go out and eat after a mere marathon.
