Roy - hope Mrs Roy's knee is feeling better!

Evanflein - how is your mare doing now? Did you manage to get her to take her meds?

Rest day for me today, but horse had a 2 1/2 hour workout! Lovely ride through the bluebell woods - truly spectacular and about at their best right now. Perfect temperature for riding - low 60s and a light breeze. Very relaxing!

Hope everyone has a good run/workout today!

Good morning all,

Another beautiful morning here in the Carolinas.
Perch...90F degrees? I'm assuming that you're not in NC this morning as it's about 60F degrees here in Charlotte.

8.05 miles of hills @ 8:56 pace.

One of the few late blooming azaleas that didn't get damaged by the frost....

Good runs to everyone today.

Re: Wed Boomer Runs 4/25
A lot of 10-milers today by PDR, runwun, and robp, plus Peter gets credit since his 8 were hilly. I'm saving my first 10-miler of the year for this Saturday.

So is this the B&B equivalent of self-flagellation? I went from two days running under the mild, clear, dry skies of Ol' Virginny back to the cold, overcast, drizzly skies of post-industrial Michigan. I have no excuse -- it was raining before I even went out the door -- but there was some perverse enjoyment in running a wet 4 miles this morning simply because it was on my schedule!

I'm also getting a bit concerned about a foot problem that I might have -- I'll have to pay some attention to that and see what gives.

morning boomers!

Pilates workout #1, callans abs #1,100 & #4, 5 X 10. stability ball overhead leg toss, 10 each leg. takes a while, you have to keep fetching them.

hi Roy! hi Beers! it's good to have all 3 of you at the top, the world seems less tilty. glad today was better, PDR.

you never know what a bunny might have on 'is mind.

poor Holly. no ideas. except I think I'd rather talk to the babysitter, then talk to DD by yourself, instead of all together. at least to start with. then you probably should get a decadent treat.

welcome, unknrunner.
speaking of new folk, I am missing Milo.

thanks again for being so wonderful & supportive yesterday.

enjoy

Peter... that's water temp! Here's a video of deep water running. You have a pool. You should try it!

Re: Wed Boomer Runs 4/25
Meg ? will you be defending your championship in Cleveland this year?

This morning?s run on the downhill treadmill (I was ?running? late, so I didn't have time to get to the track) was the hardest PBJ Special? version 2.0 that I think I have ever done. It included 12 x ½ mile speed work intervals with ¼ mile recoveries. Lots of sweat. I don?t think I did any permanent damage. We will see how the heel and ankle feel as the day progresses. Good running, everyone.

Good to see roy c taking mrs roy and his woody out for a romp in the countryside!
WillRunForBeer, be careful around those leaping long ears, that must have been very scary.

Late post for last night's workout; I cut it down from 6 miles to 5 miles. After Monday's hill running, I found the track workout very hard. 1 X mile, then 100 m interval, 1 X 1320, then 100m interval, 2 X 800 , 100m interval, 1 X 400 hard.
Have a great one all.

No, say it ain't so, not you.

SS, oh I do love asparagus, green and white. I've been lucky enough to be in Germany in spring and enjoyed spargel. A real treat.

Good luck this weekend Marathon Derrick. I ride out there, but running must be a killer.

1200 yds in the pool this morning. Climbed out at the wall.

Balance on a stability ball and toss your leg overhead? This sounds tough. For one thing, the fetching part would involve a lot of hopping, and I?m not very good at balancing. Plus, my leg would probably kick me in the face on the way down. And on top of that, reattaching the leg at the end might be a problem.

8 miles with 10x400 @ 1:37-1:39, 400 recovery.

Derrick, how many loops in the full marathon? 1700 ft is a lot of hills!

Re: Wed Boomer Runs 4/25
I'm scheduled for my last run before we pack it up to head to Nashville for the HM.

Looks like I am TM bound. Yesterday we got 2+ inches of rain. Today it is still raining and now we have added 20 mph winds with gusts of 40 mph.

Since this is suppose to be an easy run...it ain't happenin' out there in that wind.

And may I vent here that my DH is an idiot??? He has been banned from outside running with achilles tendonosis since Christmas. Still does not have the ok from PT to run outdoors. Yet he is seriously considering starting the HM with us and running just the first 2-3 miles.....in a crowd of thousands, on pavement, outdoors. Stupid, stupid , stupid.

8.1 miles in 1:05:00 at 5:30am, including 6x800's
3:10
3:12
3:09
3:16
3:19
3:19

3:14 avg.

I did see a rabbit or 2 along the way, but none were scary encounters.

Peter - beautiful picture of your azalea. DW took the last picture of our Bradford Pear in full bloom yesterday (sorry I haven't downloaded it yet). It is over 20 ft tall and takes up too much of our front yard, so it is coming down tomorrow. This was a tough decision, since this was the first tree we planted when we moved in 12 years ago, but it has overgrown our front yard, and everything else will benefit from the added sun.

Enjoy your day/run everyone.

Re: Wed Boomer Runs 4/25

I've managed to aggravate my knee for no apparent reason. I'm guessing ITB since it is tender on the outside. Not terrible, but I'm cutting back to running every other day and keeping it short and easy for a while. I also started icing a couple times a day and am taking ibuprofin. Will try to pop in here more regularly.
