Sunday Boomer Runs 4/29

Morning Boomers
Nice, sunny, warm, morning here today. We went out for a nice 7 miler, first for Mrs Roy and first for me since January. I could have run further but as I am starting a week of nights tonight so I didn't. I suppose my mileage this week will plummet but hey at least I am running injury free now
Anyway, 7m 1:19:19 @ 11:19 pace AHR 143 69%
Good Runs & Races To All
Roy

Hilly 8 miler today at a 9:00 pace. We had a beautiful weekend here; sunny and in the low 70's. Great running weather.
Good runs to all today!

Re: Sunday Boomer Runs 4/29
Yesterday I got a bit of crosstraining as I bought, loaded, unloaded, and stacked up 50 bags of mulch. They'll stay that way till my DS and his best friend/roommate get back from college next week. They get to lay the mulch.

A more traditional workout this morning. 14.6 miles in 2:15 for a 9:18 min/mile pace. The HR stayed at 140 on average. Perfect easy HR. I am very encouraged by the HR's lately and the paces at them. I'm getting quicker while running easy.

Penultimate Day o' the Month Greetings ~

> Quietly energetic 8er to welcome the day. Cruised out to Summit Ave. once again and did a double. Possibly my imagination, but seems as if I wasn't gasping quite as pitifully upon cresting the summit. Surrounded by velvety quietude: city, wind, and clouds slumbering peacefully.

* Good news, Roy ! *

Good Morning,, yawn..
Roy & Mrs.. Nice 7 miler!
Sarge and thunder.. nice 8 milers!
Breger, you are in fantastic shape. You know laying that mulch is great x-training

Today is a rest day (yes Debbie I do take them, but will go on long brisk walk with Tory) as I switch into a mon-Sat pool running routine with Sunday rest day.. ahh. Measured my reting HR this morning and saw 46 bpm (same as during marathon training) so the fitness has been maintaining...yipee!

Last night managed 2 miles with Tory as a brisk walk in my cast/boot. no pains, 13:28 pace, AHR 126.

Have great runs!

What's a rest day?

I got 12 nice miles with a group of 8 this morning. Lots of conversation makes the mile go fast!! Cloudy and wet - but no rain.

Go get 'em boomers!

Beautiful day in Michigan too - suppose to get up to 70 today and full sunshine. Out for a 4 mile run at 10:27 pace to finish off my marathon week. Now I have to go sit at a bridal shower . . . and it is SO nice out!

Enjoy the day!!

Re: Sunday Boomer Runs 4/29
3 mile warm up, 1 mile local street race in a big "U" (~6:07, which isn't bad for me since I've done zero speed work), 2 mile cool down. I think I'll leave it at that since I'm determined to nurse this darn ITB back to health. It didn't feel too bad today.

BTW, I like my expensive new Garmin toy. Not only is it handy for measuring lawnmowing, but the HRM is much more stable and consistent than my Timex was. (My resting heart rate has dropped since last year. It was 48, now it's 44.) I haven't even started to program workouts yet, but I love the freedom to just head out and run a few miles without knowing a route in advance and still get some numbers at the end. The satellite lock has been flawless. I've even been able to do some trail runs through heavily wooded areas (below) and finally find out the distances. Very neat. My only complaint is I can't hear the alerts most of the time. I'd say all that heavy metal is catching up with me but I didn't have this problem with my Timex.

30 minute run this morning in the cold rain with 4K at MP. Body was feeling good but mechanics were off.

Coach has me on a light week, when I want to go long. I am trying to convince him to let me run a half marathon this coming Sunday...(doubt he will say yes) )-:

Take care
