Hoo-boy. Okey-dokey.
This was intended to be a nod to my favourite movie,
Amélie, and the "kidnapped" gnome that sent postcards from around the world. (BTW, if you haven't seen the flick, you should ... but
do not get the dubbed version as it will ruin a magical movie.)
Of course it was Mr. S. taking the pics. Who else would photograph a women's behind who doesn't have long flowing locks?
papillon, I'm serious about Athens 2011 ... with a sail down the southern coast of Turkey after, as I did in 1986. There is
nothing to compare to the feeling of running into Athens with the Acropolis in view and then to finish in that stadium. Mark your calendar.
gg, as an E.U. member, it's now the Euro. Although it makes travel easy with the common currency, I miss the drachma, guilder, franc, etc. There's still the Turkish lira.
OTTAWA SCORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Egrd, it's impossible to rush through the ruins with all the #@)(*$#($ tourists (and it was early in the season -- can't imagine what August must be like). While it's nice to be in the sultry weather (Santorini the one rainy day), I'd rather go in early January or February to improve the experience.
hally, Mr. S. is waving madly in your general direction.
Roy, no London this time. BTW, it's time you returned those Elgin marbles.

Hi, johnson! Where've you been?
La T, lots of pics and commentary from Taipei, please.
