Re: June 3/07 Boomer Runs
Good afternoon everyone! Very humid day in Mississauga. Ran mid-morning - 9.23 mi ... 1:27:46 ... 9:31 pace ... 147/154 hr. Starting to build in a second MLR at low HR on Sun, following Sat LR. I think the high HR today is more a function of the humidy, but possibly because legs are tired from yesterday too.

Vista129 - thanks for the "NHL" clarification. Sounded like a really interesting job. Boredom is #1 ....go figure! Hope to meet you someday and share stories.

Re: June 3/07 Boomer Runs
Some good runs. Like you, seemomgo, you outran me. I only ran 9.57 miles yesterday for my LR and 5.05 miles this morning. But I ran every day this week so my mileage is coming back up nicely, only 2 weeks after the marathon.

Happy Sunday everyone, Put in 22 miles on the bike in 1 hour. I think the riding is helping me get a faster leg turn over and helping me run better. Now only 11 hours and 45 minutes until i get to go home.love that ot

tselbs, I love 'Pinball Wizard'.

Eric, I'm working for faster leg turnover too. good job!

DH, "when I'm not interested in a task, I'm the absolute worst at performing it. I'm only good at doing things that interest me." me too. not always an advantage.

More victorious boomer runs!
There was a bit of rain, but the thunderstorms held off till just a little while ago. It was nice meeting Doug, & seeing Markguy. Hi Dave. Sorry to have missed you. There was heavy competition for a view of the runners there on Main St.
Good job, guys! I will let them toot their own horns.

Re: June 3/07 Boomer Runs
20 days without a run in the woods is way too long. We went to the towpath and MrF did 13.1 in 1:38 while it took me 1:47:10 to do just 10 miles, 10:43 pace. Perhaps spending most of yesterday horizontal and eating very little contributed to my slow pace today. I took several walk breaks. I was happy to be breathing the heady scent of the dame's rocket and multiflora rose, and listening to the birds and bullfrogs.
eta: Nice photo of the Michigan boomers! Thanks for posting it.

Re: June 3/07 Boomer Runs
That run in the woods sounds great FF! I'll have to find a place in one of the woods in our area to go running now :-)

Today was a semi-fast 8 miles, first few with DW. Yesterday I felt a bit sluggish, though I bet it was more the humidity. I was starting to wonder if i'd fully recovered from the marathon. Today I felt great though... I'm looking forward to a normal training schedule this week.

Holly, it doesn't cool down much at night down here. Mid-70's is about as low as it ever goes and whether it's 3, 4, or 5 AM there is no difference.

Oh, Yeah. I already nap. Love 'em.

Re: June 3/07 Boomer Runs
No need for a cyber search party. I found my way back.

A May synopsis- only two runs per week but pushing the pace =71 miles, PF is fading albeit slowly.

I thirst for the inspiration here, just can't seem to get to the watering hole everyday. Dizzly today, if I run, I'll post later.

Re: June 3/07 Boomer Runs
late post of yesterday's run. Got up at 6:30 a.m. and ran 7 miles before the heat got to be too much.

It's another hot one today, so I'm heading to the gym while DS is at a bday party and get in another short run (maybe 4 miles) and weights.

Re: June 3/07 Boomer Runs
5 miles today, 3.1 at almost 5K pace...okay, so it was a 5K race, but I only ran it for the beer glass so I didn't actually run it 100%. The Run for the Roses 5K awards beer glasses to the top 3 AG finishers. I got a glass last year when I won my AG, so I wanted a matching one this year. I kinda had to laugh when I finished and saw my official time was 19:59. Thought of Spareribs - hee hee. Oh, and I won the 40 - 49 age group again. But none of that really matters since I got my beer glass!

The only reason I ended up running under 20:00 was because I was stalking a 13 year-old kid over the last mile and I wanted revenge for mcsolar. I stayed about 10 meters behind him until we hit the 3 mile mark, then I blew by him in the sprint to the finish. I kinda felt bad for the little guy since he didn't know what hit him. Oh well, just another one of life's learning experiences...

They also had a 5K walk on a different route, and Mrs. Labduck was the first finisher. Some guy tried to keep up with her, but it was futile. Seriously, I have to jog to keep up with her when she walks. She's that fast!

Runwun ? that?s fast!

TomS ? 93 and still driving a car? Now THAT is scary!

Debbie ? nice picture!

JJJessee ? hi there! (waving and smiling)

Went to the cupboard and swirled my limoncello brew. (tapping toes...) 13 days and counting. (And this is the QUICK-brew method.)

Apparently you can also make grapefruitcello, but somehow that doesn't appeal to me as much.

10K pr of 9 seconds 40:26, but first time I've ever placed in a 10K-3OA, 1AG. Not bad for the spur of the moment-

more later...

good running, Boomers!
