Anyone been watching the Under-20 World Cup? I'm extremely impressed with the quality of play that these guys are bringing to the tournament, especially the US team. Freddy Adu is being hailed by just about every "expert" as the player of the tournament so far, and after seeing him play in a few games, I'd have to agree. Seems like just about everyone wrote him off after he didn't live up to the MLS hype a few years back, but we have to remember that the kid is still only 17. It's good to see that he seems to be coming into his own. Hope the US beats Austria on Saturday to advance to the Semi's.
I agree, the quality of play was impressive. I didn't realize it was the under-20 team for a while.
Freddie Adu was indeed playing very well. Even with reminding myself he was 13 when he burst onto the scene, it seems like he should be older than 17 by now...
