Travels and Jet Lag

Hello Boomers - let's see if this works??? Take three?

Longshan Temple. This is where I started out, tired and jet lagged, but curious. Somehow I got caught up in the crowd and wasn?t sure what to do, so I followed a mother, with her two daughters and pretended to be their guest. When they took some incense, I did. When they lit theirs, I did. Basically whatever they did, I followed suit.

Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial. Where there is a plaza that is very active at night. On one side is the National Theater and the other is the National Concert Hall ? which is where I saw the Chinese Opera. People gather here in the evening to socialize, do some Tai Chi or dance.

Tamsui is a costal town and has a festive atmosphere ? a Taiwan?s Fishman?s Wharf.

Beitou ? a lonely Boomer-less hot tub. I could have sworn someone said the Boomer hot tub party was is Taiwan - did I get the date wrong?

This trip was not all fun and games though ? there was work involved. Here is the NTU ? National Taiwan University - Hospital. It is a very busy place, as they have 6,000 patients walk in their doors every day. I was there providing education on comprehensive care for patients with rare diseases. It is a beautiful hospital with an excellent and caring staff!

From Taiwan I went to Silicon Valley for my top-secret mission. Where there really are Mountain Lions

?and there were hills to run. So I hooked up with my good friend and old track-mate to run them.

?but no internet, no cell phone coverage and no pork filled steamed buns.

Thanks for reading!!!

La T !<br/>The pics look great here
Fun trip, huh?
You're supposed to get jet lagged on the return, not on the way over.

Important education provided by a very special person.

So glad you were able to find some time to play tourist and hook up with an old friend.

Welcome home!

Welcome Home La Travelera!

Thanks for sharing your trip. Vicarious travel is much better for me. Was it difficult to communicate?

What was the climate like in Taiwan?

Thanks for taking the time to share your adventure with us La Tortuga. Your pictures send back sweet memories of China for me. I wanted to post a picture of Mao's memorial just for comparison, but I could not find the picture in my files right now. Thanks for sharing your talents, your sweet spirit and your dulce sonrisa with those less fortunate. You are my gal. Welcome back home

I am forever seeking for that BALANCE. I want running to be part of my life as much as eating or breathing, but without becoming obsessed or being a slacker about it.

Thank you for posting the pictures, LaT. I may never get out of Ohio, but at least I can see some of the exotic places of the world through the more well-traveled Boomers. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Travels and Jet Lag
Thanks for the pictures. A couple of them look very "professional". Sounds like you had a fun and successful trip. Travel is certainly an education in itself.

Hope you are able to quickly get rested from the trip. The excitement keeps you going on the trip, but I find I crash when I get home.

Thanks again.
