Boomer sightings at Estes Park

They were there. Or, at least, I think they were. My vision was cloudy from the altitude.

And then I turned around, and they were not there.

Perhaps it was a dream.

Or the CIA.

After your explanations of running marathons at altitude, I hope fellow marathon maniac boomers aamos, arf and divechief didn't get sick or something and were able to beat you, . . . I mean run with you (unless June is blessing you with another PR!).

See you at the Seafair Marathon (were you able to talk aamos into return run?).

thanks.

Was great to meet you SR and finally get a chance to pinch your cheeks.

The altitude just about killed me in CO, and although I complain a LOT about the long, cold winters in Canada, at least we have oxygen

....Hope to see you again soon,

arf

Srlopez, divechief, Arf1, Aamos, Frank

(TomD and Donna are missing from the picture)
Yep, Boomers were there, With all the ghosts and goblins in that town they may have been spirited away though. The High altitude, thin air and relentless climbing did take a toll on finishing time, fortunatly we had hurricane force head winds to help keep us cool. I slathered on the sunscreen but I still look like a lobster today.

Dinner with Tom and Donna was great.

The volunteers were enthusiastic. everything the race promised was delivered. the Ice at the aid stations was a wonderful bonus. and the scenery was breathtaking.

The later stages of the race ran into the hills behind the Stanley hotel, then in front of it at about mile 22

Stanley hotel, inspiration fro Steven King's "the shining"

I'm not talking about times (but a certain boomer goddess took an age group first,) SR doing the second race of the weekend was WAY ahead of us, but it was a greta weekend, and a taste of what Wyoming might look like in a couple months.

You guys rock! We spent a week there last summer, and I ran the flat parts of the course in town on the lakeshore, etc. I can only imagine what it was like climbing those hills. The car engine was straining.

Thanks for the pics Dave, haven't seen or heard from Aamos in a while so it's nice to see her there as well as you, Robert and Arf. Is that the famous Frank on the leash?
