Re: Salute to Joe
Often we use the word "amazing" for emphasis, but what you have accomplished truly IS amazing. I'm coming up on 30 years myself and it's hard to imagine going a year without taking a day off...but 30 years? It seems almost impossible. Not only does it mean that you are very, very dedicated, but it must also mean that you have never had a serious injury or been really ill in all those years.

Congratulations on your most remarkable achievment

Re: Salute to Joe
Joe - what you have accomplished is truly amazing. Of course, the tense of "have accomplished" is wrong as it only applies to the last 30 years, and I suspect you have many more ahead of you.

My heartfelt congratulations on your continuing feat.

Re: Salute to Joe
We used to have a dog named Joe when I was a boy. He was a German Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix, and a good dog in most respects, but he became a cat-killer and we had to put him down. It was very sad.

Hey Joe
Now thats what I call, dedication, determination and a touch of madness
A pity the rest of the world wasn't as mad in the same way you are.
Well done Joe

Re: Salute to Joe
Amazing record, Joe. Thirty years of running is one thing, but running every day is really special. I'm also in my 60s but have only been running 8 or 9 years. My plan is running every other day to allow for recovery. You've messed up my logic. Congratulations and keep it up.

Joe,

Congratulations. It was a pleasure to meet you in Boston this year. I am awed by your accomplishment. It takes an amazing constitution and will to accomplish this streak. Wow. How you have accomplished this thru injury, work and racing is incredible.

I hope you have an incredible party and I hope to see you again at another race in the near future.

Re: Salute to Joe
Hi Joe,

So, you've been running every day for 30 years, and still can't get away from Spareribs, eh? That guy sticks to you like gum on the bottom of your shoe, doesn't he?

All kidding aside, you are one heck of a "jogger!" Your dedication to the sport, and to your health and fitness is incredible and admirable. Congratulations on reaching this outstanding milestone. And I hope you really savor your run on Sunday.

Joe, congratulations on an amazing accomplishment. I can't imagine 30 days in a row, much less 30 years

and I think you're another reason to believe that Ribs married up

Re: Salute to Joe
Wow! words fall short. Impressive and inspirational come to mind, but Joe goes beyond that. He doesn't just run, he EMBODIES running, it's philsophies and personofies its nature. Way to go.

Re: Salute to Joe
Congratulations on your achievement, Joe, considering being handicapped by being related to that ol' Ribs character (at least it's not a blood relationship). I would personally like to just get in 30 years of regular running of any kind, but can't imagine your level of dedication. Truly an inspiration to us all!

Re: Salute to Joe
Congratulations Joe. Enjoy the celebration! I'll raise one (or two) for you on Sunday in S. Florida.

I can't imagine doing much of anything every day for 30 years, let alone running every day! That is truly amazing and shows determination, heart, and dedication.

Like Tet, I'd like to hear some of your numbers too - miles total, average, longest, shortest, anything really!

Congrats, Bill

Re: Salute to Joe
Ya know Joe, I consider myself a good runner, I have 40 yrs of running behind me. I can't get through two weeks without missing day! So this is pretty unreal to me. Kinda like that Dean character, running 30 M's in 30 days. Just unreal. Congratulations, why not take the day o....oh never mind.
