Sat 23rd Boomer Runs

Morning Boomer Friends

Quite dull this morning but nice temperature for a run. 13.5 miles at a nice steady pace. No idea of time as I decided it would be a 'no watch' run. Off to the Channel Islands now for the week for hols.

Enjoy your weekend and good luck to our racers.

Re: Sat 23rd Boomer Runs
Good Morning Boomers!

Thanks, Elaine, for starting us out. Have fun on your vacation!

Fjordrunner and Mariposai ? beautiful pictures yesterday ? both your lovely selves and the stunning locale. What is a methow?

Larry ? I love your photos, too. Sure wish I had more than just the pavement and an endless stream of brick ranch homes to look at during my runs?

Another late night last night ?the kids were spending the night with friends, and DH and I were home from the play by 11, but at 11:30 I got another phone call from DS (not feeling good can you come and get me), so after picking up the kids I was in bed about 1am ? these are VERY LATE nights for this early-to-bed lady. Still, that internal clock woke me at 5:20, and I got up to run with the promise of a nap later (I LOVE those weekend naps).

7.3 miles today in 62 degrees at a pleasant GA pace (ave pace 9:20). Poor pinky toe is worried about tomorrow?s LR. I think I?ll go to the pharmacy later and see what sorts of options they have for toe-protection.

DS got 2 tickets to a 10:00 am Dayton Dragons game (minor league baseball) for being on the honor roll, so he and I will head out to that in a bit.

Good luck to the racers!

Re: Sat 23rd Boomer Runs
morning boomers!

Nice runs already, you two. Elaine, have a good time.

Holly, I can't believe you got another phone call! Think it's stressful for him to stay someplace else? How was the play?
I've been feeling the same way about my weekday runs. At least on the weekend there's the river route & other options. Is there anyplace else you could go for your long runs?

I agree about the pictures!

I did Pilates workout 1 & some extra ab work. Outside since about 6:15 to trim the yews & the burning bushes.. kind of a production with sheets spread out to catch all the trimmings. Then neither pair of hedge clippers (both old) would cut, and after a few attempts to fix them I was off to Meijers for a new pair. Set me back a little. I have a new gnat strategy. If I come inside for a few minutes, after I go back out they don't realize I'm back for a little while. What do they want?

great weekends & go racers!

Good morning,

Nice runs this morning.

Perfect weather here 75F, sunny and a slight breeze.

9.1 miles of hills @ 8:52 pace then relaxing cool down swim in the pool looking up at the clear blue skies as I was doing my back strokes.

Work again this morning so I had to cut the run shorter than I wanted.

Good runs to all today.

Hi, everyone.

Another beautiful day to run...

I took JD out again, this time for 2.5 miles. I'm building up her mileage a bit. She was very well behaved and handled the mileage just fine.

5.1 miles for me, 42:17 (8:19/mi)

Have a great run today -- best of luck to the weekend racers.

5 miles fartlek. Beautiful weekend forecast and it was nice to be out in the quiet, cool morning.

DD2 was mowing the lawn yesterday and ran over a steel storm drain grate. The lawn mower blade is bent 90 degrees and works as a roto-tiller now. Repairing the mower is on my list of chores.

Morning all, Elaine have a great holiday.
Lou, is JD a weekend warrior? She needs more then one day a week!

4 miles on the boardwalk in lovely 65 degrees. Then 3 sets of 15 side arm lifts, leg lifts and calf raises.

Off to meet Euphoric and her DH in NYC for lunch!!

Re: Sat 23rd Boomer Runs
Nice running this morning.

Comfortable weather fueled another sproinky run for me. 15 miles @ 8:47; 135 AHR, 69% HRR. I had a banana before the run and watered down Gatorade during, but I felt a little low on energy towards the end. 15 miles may be the time to add a half a bagel before the run.

Off to a long day of chores, including a massive clean-up and reorganization of my workshop. Should be a beautiful day for it.

Enjoy your weekend!

It was a beautiful morning to run - sunny and 58 deg. Now if those fish flies weren't around it might have been perfect. They were rather heavy last night.

Did 3 miles with DD the newbie in 53 min then ran 6 in 1:15.

Good runs all.

Heee tomwhite.
You light this place up, you know.

Here is a wombat. I think she is practicing running, carrying non-denominational monies in her cheeks.

Beerdog, I am glad you are having a good Caturday.

So that's a wombat...

0730
75 deg
calm & sunny
gonna be a scorcher today at 99 predicted degrees

Managed a crappy 2.3 miles and then realized, "I don't have to do this." So I called it a day. It's nice to have choices.

Good luck to the racers. Hydrate well.

Re: Sat 23rd Boomer Runs
Holly, I wonder if "new skin" would work on your toe. It is made to protect minor cuts or wounds, but works well for guys' nipple protection on long runs. Several brands are available at most pharmacies. It is applied with a brush applicator, sticks well to skin, and lasts for a couple of days.

Nice runs today. WTG on the long run, Tramps.

Larry, keep those pictures coming.

11.5 M for me today (66F, 83%RH, enough to leave me soaked by the end), including 3.3 M tempo (7:36 m/M to 7:11 m/M on a mile that included an elevation drop of 80 ft.) and a slow 1.5-M CD. Average pace 8:14 m/M.
