If you have a great ab workout that you do can you share? Anything to lose that gut and those love handles (some of us have more then we want).
Unfortunately, An ab workout won't really lose the gut and extra bits, it'll only strengthen what's underneath(you'll end up with a glorious 6 pack hidden beneath a keg). My suggestion is plenty of cardio exercise in your greatest fat burning Heart Rate(using interval training working just below your max heart rate, with recovery periods is the best). Diet is important too, loose the empty calories for soda, candy, or booze...but that is a known factor. Then for an ab workout, focus on pilates based exercises that focus on drawing the stomach in(on every crunch think belly button to the spine, drawing everything in). The worst thing you can do is a bunch of crunches or sit ups that end up pushing the stomach muscles out
Thanks for the tip! I always thought that doing sit ups/crunches would fix the problem but I have been doing them for so long now and not seeing any results. Can you recommend any resources for "Do at Home Pilates" or do you need to take a class to have access to the Pilates equipment?
Because everybody is different, there is not one universal workout that will be great for everyone. I think that is why there are so many on the market. A workout that I have incorporated into my exercise routine is Jillian Michaels: The Biggest Winner. shape up complete. It is a 2 DVD set, that I use on alternate days along with my running, biking, and swimming. I have noticed a difference in my mid-section from this workout. It burns away fat and builds muscle at the same time. I would recommend giving it a try.
I agree with Kelleigh .... you must burn off the fat before you will see the cuts in the abs. Cardio cardio and a CLEAN DIET. No more booze, no more junk food..
