sorry to say but I threw my back out with some heavy lifting (not fireworks) and had to miss the annual Firecracker 5000
(and unlikely chance anyway to try to beat Tammy's recent 5K PR) so please bump it off Intrepid for this year.

please also change Mt. Spokane from "relay" to "34.3" miles. At least it's a mountain run so should be a good escape from this week's heat wave up in the PNW.

thank you for your concern/wishes. Although it?s still kind of hunchback-of-Notre Dame-like getting up from sitting down, walking around is okay and I?m hoping tomorrow?s run will be the same as when the same thing happened at the end-of-the-year and the Resolution Run went off without at hitch.

The RR was only 5K and I may only make it 5K in the Mt. Spokane Run tomorrow too but it will be interesting to see what happens and, no matter what, I?ll be at the Seafair start (hoping to to running too ).

Does this mean you'll miss Seafair? Please say it's not true!
I'm sorry to hear about your back, but also felt a little deja vu since I hurt my back cleaning my barn last weekend. I've rested all week then did a little shake-down run last night to see if Seafair was still possible. All systems seemed good to go, I hope the same is true for you! Careful in the heat this weekend.

Ilene, if you can be ever so kind, remove me from the Bellingham 1/2 marathon in October. Unlike Karl, who found a reasonable airfare to Seattle, I wasn't so lucky, so I'll hang around locally and see what else is around.

With a predicted high of 98 and with my wiltiness in heat, I think it is best to not try my first mile race in those conditions.
