Hi all,

Well, I just registered a couple of days ago. Really it's kind of nuts; I just ran Boston last Monday. But it's a good opportunity for me to qualify for Marathon Maniacs[/URL" target="_blank">! Plus it gives me an excuse to visit my parents for a few days.

I don't really know what to expect from this experience; I'm going to go out very easy and just see what happens.

Ryan..You have a good brewery/brew pub in Nashville???

Hubby loves a good microbrew and since he had to DNS the race due to tendonitis we are trying to make his trip worth while.

Big River is downtown on Broadway and 2nd Ave. Blackstone Brewery is on West End Ave. about 5 blocks or so towards town from the CMM start. Bosco's is on 21st Ave, just past Vanderbilt Univ. And Yazoo is located in the old Marathon Car Factory close to town. (you'll have to google that one) Yazoo is the newest and only truly local (non-chain) of these, but also has shorter hours.

I spent the past weekend in Nashville and we ate at Demo's - like someone on here suggested earlier. I too, would highly recommend it - quality food, quick service, good atmosphere and reasonable price.

Looks like the weather is going to be just about perfect for Saturday!

Yeah, Big River is the popular one around here. We get lots of people in the hotel who like it. That would be recommendation number one.

Found out I'm in corral 10 this morning. Suddenly, I got really excited about this whole thing.

I just came from the expo. For what it's worth, the best freebie is at the Publix Grocery booth where they were giving out Velcro wrist wallets and shoe bags. And if anyone is interested in a great Nashville fall marathon, go by the Nashville Striders booth and pick up info about the Flying Monkey Marathon.

I checked out with a time of 1:37:59 but the results say I ran 1:38:14. Don't know how that happened but, either way, I just wanted to at least get sub 1:40 and finish on page 1 of the male 50-54 division. My legs were very heavy from mile 8 to the finihs but I'm happy with the time. A great course with an encouraging group of spectators.

Forgot my racing singlet back where I was staying and had to run in a cotton tshirt. That ticked me off big time but it turned out OK in the end. I hope all the other CR's enjoyed the day as much as I did - pretty good weather too.

Is that from the Live Results page? I think there's something wrong with that. I think it's only showing gun time. I'm pretty sure I crossed the line at 3:23:xx on the clock, but the only time on that page for me is 3:23:40. I started in the second corral, with about a one-minute time differential, so my chip time should be 3:22:xx. You must have been in the first corral, right? Crossed the mat at about 15 seconds?

Also, for me, the "race pace" row has screwy values in it.

Quick post from me. We're in the car on the way home from the race.

I had a great race. 1st marathon and completed in 3:52:xx by my watch...chip should be a little faster.

Where are the results posted.

My results were the only runner on page one (male 50-54) without a 10k split time. Then my 5k and 10 mile splits were also listed at 13-15 seconds slower than what they actually were. In the big scheme of things, it doesn't matter a lot and didn't change the place in my age group but I know I hit the watch at the right time. I assume my chip was faulty. It even looked different than the other runners chips.

First Marathon ever!

4:16:32 and I love it. Atmosphere was amazing.

Looking for the next big race. Struggling with that one though.

I also noticed a difference in the "chip time" and my watch time. I had a 4:38:09 on my watch and the chip time gave me a 4:38:23...so it seems that everyone is of by 15 seconds or so.

I know it's only 15 seconds, but you know how anal runners are about their times. I even start my watch as I cross the first start mat and shut it off as I cross the last finish mat just to be sure.
