99 days to Boston

I realized that yesterday was the 100th day out from the Boston Marathon (including race day). It struck me as somewhat of a milestone - that it was a matter of working hard and staying focused for another 99 days to reach our goals.

I don't intend to overlap with the Marathon thread over on Mainstream, but anything else can go here.

Re: 99 days to Boston
heck yeah! Double digits! And at this point of the day I hope to be just past the 10k mark, feeling like I'm floating and barely warmed up yet. It'll be strange to start at 10am - but probably even worse for the Angels! With the time difference, that's like rolling out of bed and playing baseball in your jammies!

Re: 99 days to Boston
I only started my serious training on January 1 after running only 80 miles in December. Looking at the calender that gives me thirteen weeks of training and two weeks to taper. For me Boston is a prep run for VCM. I know; that sounds like sacrilege, but with a record of seven consecutive VCM's my goal is a good performance in Vermont, so Boston for me is a fun (and cherished) event that I use as a guage for my readiness for VCM forty one days later.

Go Halos!!!

I am SOOOO disappointed that the tickets are already sold out. As a life long Angel fan who will be in town for the race, this might be a REALLY expensive weekend depending on how much I have to pay to scalp tickets...

99 days until Boston!!!

I was actually hoping to get a Boston Trainers Thread together - are you guys in for this? In the Spring Trainers Thread in Mainstream Racing there is a long list of folks getting ready....

I am also reading 26 miles to Boston right now. A lot of people freak out about it because it is written by a bandit (gasp!), but it has great historical info and some cool facts about the course. I highly recommend it!

On a side note, I am desperately looking for some sox tickets for Sunday, 4/15......anyone know where I can score some?

Re: 99 days to Boston
Unfortunately, my wife isn't into baseball and being from New York....

Anyways, I was looking to get tickets to the game and just looked now.

You can actually get the following tickets:

Section G16 Row 4 Seat 26 and Section G16 Row 5 Seat 26. So basically if you need two tickets, they are right behind each other. They are $49 each on mlb.redsox.com. They actually have a lot of these in multiple G## sections.

This is for Sunday 4/15. If they had two seats together I might have got them.

Re: 99 days to Boston
As far as places to stay near the finish go, check the BAA website as a travel sponsor has a link with available hotels and their respective distances from the finish. Whatever is still open, you should jump on b/c a lot of these hotels are already full.

For the rest of you, if you haven't checked in on the Too Soon For a Boston Marathon Thread?[/URL" target="_blank"> check it out. Greg added an awesome pace predictor (with lots of bells and whistles such as estimated start time for your corral, elevation charts, paces in line with elevation and a printable wristband)[/URL" target="_blank">. Very cool stuff. Check it out.

Edited to add links....
