US Youth Soccer, the largest youth sports organization in the country, is celebrating the fifth annual Youth Soccer Month this September.
Interest in the sport of soccer is at its highest level ever in the United States, with more than 19 million children, ages five to 19, participating regularly. Notably, more children are participating in organized soccer than peewee football, youth basketball or Little League baseball.
Read about the four message US Youth Soccer is sending by celebrating youth soccer and the goals they hope to achieve.
Thanks for the article. I have been and advocate of USYA and youth soccer for many years and my two sons have been playing soccer for 6 yearrs. They no longer play organize baseball because they enjoy the game and I am happy about the physical and pyschological benefits of playing organized soccer.
Hi Jon,
I'm glad you liked it and that your sons enjoy and benefit from soccer. It's great that more children are participating in sports in general--as you said, not only for the physical benefits but for the psychological as well and lessons to be learned.
