I'm a guy about 5' 6" 130-135 and it depends on a number of factors. Your mileage makes a difference on how much you eat. And if i run in the morning I eat if its going to be a hard workout or a workout of over 4 miles.

I'm 5'2" and 120, so we're probably about the same. I say eat what seems right. Don't gorge yourself, but don't starve either. Eat when you're hungry and let your body dictate the rest.

I like 1 or 2 slices of bread and a small glass of milk before a run, I feel more fueled that way. But I never did that until the past few weeks, so it's possible to go without. For me, at least, it seems to help though.

Re: girls eating habits
Well I run a little over double what you do and my eating habits are as follows. Breakfast is my big meal of the day. Cereal, fruit, granola bars, PB--i like to mix it up. Then after my morning run i usually have a little snack. At lunch I'll eat fairly light. Just a sandwich and maybe some chips with salsa. I'll eat dinner about 2 hrs before my night run--just a typical dinner meat, veggies, etc. Then if im feeling weak after my night run ill eat a littel snack. I try not eat two hours before bed though. it's a good habit.
As long as you eat sensibly and listen to your body when youre really hungry, etc. you'll be fine. cut out the soda, sugary snacks, and all that fried junk.

5' 6" 118 lbs. Before my 5AM run: a banana & glass of water or 1/2 to 1 slice of bread & water or 1/3 or 1/2 PowerBar or Cliff bar & water.

I eat sparingly. Whole grain cereal & fruit for breakfast. Snacks: soy yogurt, fruit or 1 Tbsp trail mix, water throughout the day. Lunch or Dinner: large salad w/chicken slices on top. Dinner: Lean proteins, veggies, limited brown carbs. What gets the ax: white carbs and if I eat them, small servings ONLY, NO sweets, desserts, sodas, caffeine, fruit juices, munchie-type junk snacks. I don't eat dairy --no milk, butter, any kind of cream but I do like tofu and soy milk. I eat eggs a few times a week.

I have a lot of energy for running, don't get tired and I feel better than eating like I used to which was considered "normal." My diet isn't for everyone but it works for me. It helps me either lose weight or keep it off for good.

Re: girls eating habits
I just reread your post. You're only 16! A baby in my book! You're still a growing girl and need more nutrition than us adults. Eat a healthy, well-balanced diet, watch your serving sizes so they're not TOO much, eat when you're satiated but not stuffed to the gills. Drink a lot of water, exercise and you'll be fine. You'll burn calories a lot faster than us older folks because you're still growing and your metabolism is faster than ours because of your youth.

i'm 19. '5"4 and 115. i look fairly built considering that i am small-boned. so i wouldnt worry about your weight. it sounds pretty good especially for a runner. there is a girl on my team who is your height and is 135 lbs but she is a natually big-built person.
