Re: christian runners
My wife and I are both Catholic, and both run. I wear my finger rosary every day I run. I start my run with a prayer, usually say from one to six rosaries (depending on the length of the run) per run, and just generally talk and listen to God with every run. Don't know if I am a better runner but I know I am a better person because of it.

Good running all.

There's a compelling and building body of evidence suggesting God favours Christian runners.

This brings to mind a few questions.

(Olympic Gold Medalist) Hicham El Guerrouj and Khalid Khannouchi are Muslim. While they technically worship the same God, they only accept Christ as a prophet and not their Personal Saviour.

If they convert to Christianity, might they regain their former World Records?

What kind of time can I expect to shave off my own marathon PR? Would some Denominations work better than others?

For example, would I run better as a Catholic or Protestant? Is Mormonism or Jehovah's Witness be an option?

Please don't make fun of me. This is a serious training question.

Re: christian runners
so what are you getting at? them believing in god has nothing to do with them succeeding in running? just lost on what your trying to prove.

Re: christian runners
Definately a christian, definately a runner. Not sure that the fact that I pray before and after, and often during runs, is what makes me a "Christian Runner".

I am glad that I can run, and am sure that God loves all runners, jewish, muslim, agnostic, budist etc. Every mile we go is one step forward for health, and one more mile enjoying creation, rather than destroying creation, such as when we drive!

Hey, sportzfreek- don't worry about it. Just love your family and stay close to them. I think it matters more that God loves you, not how much you love God.

Re: christian runners
the only thing that exists is God
there is nothing outside of God
everything you see is God
you are God looking at God
you are God running
running is God
God is speed
in the beginning there was God
everything came from God
in the end all there will be is God
God is championship timing
God is sweat
God is all there is
might as well kick back and relax

I am a Christian runner on a team of Christian track and cross country runners. There are about 15 of us and our goal is to "Live out loud for Christ!"

Re: christian runners
My mantra for the entire race: God's will, God's love, God's strength, I can. I borrowed it from a book (To the Summit) and I repeat it over and over in my head when I run. It reminds me that with God, all things are possible.

Re: christian runners
Great runners don't believe in Jesus or Allah. They believe in themselves.
