Why all the new age talk? Almost everything you said is ridiculous amd irresponsible if you're a Christian. You must be a mindless wiccan, pagan, or seminary flunkie. Try to run instead.

Re: christian runners
(Olympic Gold Medalist) Hicham El Guerrouj and Khalid Khannouchi are Muslim. While they technically worship the same God, they only accept Christ as a prophet and not their Personal Saviour.

What kind of time can I expect to shave off my own marathon PR? Would some Denominations work better than others?

For example, would I run better as a Catholic or Protestant? Is Mormonism or Jehovah's Witness be an option?

I wont make fun of you dude. Read your questions again though. GOD will not cheat for you, one denomination or another doesn't help. Your looking for external and superficial things to give you an edge. That is superstitious just like doing the rosary thing. Ask GOD for strength as in Eph. 3:13 and train hard. He rewards diligence and obedience.

Allah and the GOD of the Christians are diabolically opposed. Allah demands duty from it's followers, the Holy GOD desires your communion as beloved children. No comparison. Catholics are christian if they make Jesus the Lord of their lives, Mormons, Muslims and Jehovahs Witnesses are cults.

Re: christian runners
I am a Christian runner from Georgia. Have any of you guys seen the thread where a 15 year old was asking about using drugs and alcohol? He could really use some Christian advice. Many were telling him not to use, but he needs to be encouraged to read the Bible. Maybe you guys could visit the thread and post some replies.

Re: christian runners
Guys, I'm a firm 16-year old Bible-believing Christian. I believe that God gave me the power to go out and run and enjoy it. Still, though, running is not the basis for my Christianity. Although I do sometimes pray to God that he'll give me a faster 5K or whatever, thats not why I'm a Christian. I love my Lord because he paid my penalty on that cross 2000 years ago, so I can spend ETERNITY with him. I don't have to fear death. Running is just something I do to help enjoy my life here on earth and stay healthy. When I run, it gives me an opportunity to meditate and pray to the Lord. Running enhances my relationship with Him. No, I probably will NEVER run a sub-2:10 marathon, or be in the Olympics, but as long as I have my Lord, it makes my life a whole lot more hopeful.

Re: christian runners
There's a compelling and building body of evidence suggesting God favours Christian runners.

God does not favor any person over another. He possesses disinterested love for all mankind.

I'll second that! It doesn't matter your religion when training. It all comes from within. Who has more heart and gut.

Re: christian runners
You opened a can of worms...

I am a christian (as is my dh) and I am a runner, he is becoming one, a runner, that is- doing c25k

I use my runs as a time to pray and to meditate on specific verses. When I started praying Lord give me strength or get me through this lord helped me complete my runs.

Have a blessed day.

Good to know that I'm a member of a cult, along with a billion other Muslims.
