Last track season was my first season ever, and was the first time I ever ran really. My fastest time was a 7:15. Which I thought was good for someone who had just begun running.
Proud dad of an eight year old who just ran a 6:15 mile. He likes to run and play soccer. At the start of the track season he was around 7:00.
5:28 mile 11:28 2 mile
Just finished my freshman year. I mainly run the 2 mile, but I also ran the mile.
My mile PR: 4:59.3 (just under the 5 minute boundry!)
That was the last mile I ran on May 24th
my 2mile PR: 10:32 at the confrence championship.
male, 15 years old
A 7:15 mile (or whatever the time was) is good for a begginer, I suppose. When I started to keep time, my PR was 8:14. Then I got it to 8:00, then 7:44 in a race, and 7:20 on a dec 31 race. It was my 2nd year of running... I didn't run that much the first year and got times in the 9-10 minute area.
And to whoever asked, I just finished my freshman year and my PR was 5:47... with terrible shin splints meaning racing on them, training badly, and no weight training for the legs.
Even with the injury, I was still keeping up with our sophmores, who got down to 5:20 by the end of the season (doctor said to take 3 weeks off for them... didn't help though.)
So as a freshman, I could have gotten 5:25 while running with a bad injury. I'm really hoping the shin splints GO AWAY soon so I can get back to running. It looks like my summer training is going to be a joke due to them, they're back just 2 weeks in.
I guess I shouldn't even be posting but mine is 8:11,
freshman female but only been running for a month or so.
I have a question. I am an 8th grader, or was an 8th garder it is summer now and well at track I ran a 4:54 mile. I know this is very good, but how good really is it? Like does anyone know of some times of the big time national runners as an 8th grader? I'm from PA so I know how Craig Miller holds the freshman mile record but what were his times like as an 8th grader can anyone venture a guess for me. My goal is to get down in the 4:20's and maybe even teens if I try hard enough for next spring's State meets. This sounds really unlikely but this will be the first time I actually trained I never really practiced much in Midddle School now however I run XC/winter track and all that for this coming year so I expect a big drop off in time.
FYI: mile-4:54, 5k-17.22, 800-2:08, 400-56.7. Those are my times all as an 8th grader without much coaching now of course I'm doing like 10 miles a day 6 days a week so these times should be much lower.
Any help would be great
I've Been Running For A Month With School And I am 12 And Did 5:57
I'm a high school senior that specializes in mid-distance sprints but I've had my fair share of miles with the distance runners. I've never ran the mile or 2 mile in a race but I consistantly run around a 4:58 mile and a 2:14-2:16 800 meter run. Put me over the mile marker and my time signifigantly drops I run around 23:45 minute 3.2 mile races.
i am 14 yr. old girl, as an 8th grader my best time was 5:15
Only think of two things - the gun and the tape. When you hear the one, just run like heck until you break the other. ~Sam Mussabini
you all put me to shame. i'm a sprinter so my best mile time is 9:05. I don't really try on the mile.
I did the first mile of a 4 mile race this year in 5:39.
Im 33 years, so im happy with that
