Picture on Terry Laughlin's artile "Master the swim challenge"

Check out the article and accompanying picture here:

http://www.active.com/story.cfm?story_id=11832

Does anyone else find it funny that in an article on the merits of good stroke technique the picture is of a man swimming butterfly with poor technique? The fact that the article is about freestyle and yet the guy in the picture is swimming butterfly is somewhat humorous in and of itself. But it isn't nearly as notable as the fact that the upper body of the guy in the picture is WAY too high out of the water. And the kicker: directly below the picture it says "you can learn to swim well...." Ha ha!

If I were Terry Laughlin, I'd definitely ask to have another picture substituted for the one that's there.

Josh

That's funny. I noticed that also when I read the article. It looks like the guy is standing on the bottom to get his chest that far out of the water.

Dear Josh,

The picture is of someone swimming and I believe that you can get the point from the picture that that is what the article is about. The article is not informing you to swim like the man in the picture, it is informing you of the benefits and challenges that come with the sport of swimming.

As a master swimmer myself I believe that the article is well written and has many valid points.

The point of the article is not the picture, and perhaps you should get back in the pool and do something productive with your life other than trying to create unneccessary problems.

Wow, I agree with Smithj244 above--I think you're taking things just a bit too literally. It's a picture accompanying a story about swim technique. Go jump in a pool. :o)

If nothing else, it is ironic that the picture doesn't match the article as he said. It was a good article, but the picture doesn't match at all. Terry Laughlin may not have even chosen the picture though.
