Re: Hey People I need help!!
Many people think that you will run faster if you are skinnier, but this is not true at all. Of course, you shouldn't have 35% body fat if you want your body to operate at top performance. The ideal fat percentage is between 6 and 14 percent. Fat can hold you back, but it will take more than 16 percent to dramatically affect your running and your speed. For cross country, you need endurance. You need to run long distances for endurance training and intervals for your finishing kick in a race. You also need to do squats once a week for more power and speed. And if you want to burn fat, you should run distance at a slower pace that gets you out of breath, but does not make you strain a lot. When you run fast and hard, your body needs energy fast, so it burns the protiens in your blood for fast energy. But when you run at an easier, less strenuous pace, your body doesn't need the energy as fast, so it gets energy by burning fat.
