I try the best I can; some days I really don't feel like running; other days I'm ready to kill someone if I don't run.

Hey, I'm from Vermont too.... where are you from?

I'm usually somewhere between 1830 and 1930... with a few exceptions on each end

Wow!!!  Compared to ya'll, I'm a turtle, 34:33 is my best 5K time.  Runner88, I was born in 88 also, but I just graduated.  Hit me up on either of my messengers and maybe we can talk.  Who knows, maybe you can give me tips on how to better my 5K time.

    Re: 5k times?

I'm in my final year of high school but just started running this year. My latest 5k PB is 20:04 (first split of a 10k, which I positive splitted by two minutes lol).

    Re: 5k times?

I've only did 1/2 XC Seseaon in High school and I#m back home (was a foreign exchange student) my best time was 29:22 in seseaon now I'm at 28:20 for 5k and 53:09 for 10k. And I#m thinking about runing a Half Marathon in October.

BTW: How far came your teams last year? Mike made to Semi-State (Indiana) but we got last.....

    Re: 5k times?

Im going to be a senior girl and il be 17 by the time XC starts again.
My best time so far has been 19:14 for a 5k but looking to shave ALOT of time off. I pinpointed what I did wrong for training last summer and during the season (racing every weekend in the summer and runing every workout hard) and am going to correct that so I can take about 30sec off.

21:00 last time I ran one, which was a while ago, I assume I can break 20:00 by now, I'm going to be a sophmore in High School.

    Re: 5k times?

This thread is pretty pointless unless people post their gender as well. A 19:45 is great for a girl...not so much for a guy.

Twigger I noticed you have pretty solid times, you thought about where you might want to go to school at?

Thanks! Umm right now I have a list of potential schools ranging from D1 to D3 and NAIA... basically keeping all option open lol they include Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Simon Fraiser University, Ohio University, Northeastern University (although thats a dream school) and then a few others. My coach is helping me put together a resume type thing to send off to the college coaches.

BTW i saw on your profile that your from Dallas. What high school did you go to? I moved from Lewisville about a year ago.

    Re: 5k times?

Male, going to be junior in HS

Last year, my best time in XC for a 5k was 19:10 or something in the low 19's. This summer I ran in a small 5k race that I also did last summer and got a 20:08. Last year in the race I got a 21:30. I also ran the race this year the day after my 8mile run, so I wasn't in top shape. I've easily tripled my summer running just this far since last year. I'm hoping to get down to low 18's or high 17's by end of the XC season.

    Re: 5k times?

It all depends on the courses. You cant compare times. My best 5K is a 16:56. But my average cross country is like 18:00. My slowest being 18:45 because it was pure hills. There is nearly a 2 minute gap there. It shows how different courses can drastically change your times. Im going to be a sophmore.
