    Re: 5k times?

Well, typically I would listen but he is our track coach and is the second best in the state.  The best in the state works with him at XC camp.  I have talked him multiple times, they both believe that theres certain time periods in a persons life where they can do great things.  They think that swimming is gonna help me in the long run.  Thanks for the advice.  Running is my number one priority, BUT I don't want to try and do too much my freshman year.  I trust my coaches, and I think that they will do everything in their power to make me the best runner that I can be.  I will keep in mind the advice though.

    Bill Greiten

Bill is the head boys’ and girls’ cross country coach at Gillett High School. In 2004, the boys’ and girls’ teams from Gillett both qualified for the WIAA State Cross Country meet. For the girls, it was the first team ever to qualify for state in any sport. For the boys, it was their 5th state meet (‘99, ‘00, ‘02-‘04). Before coming to Gillett, Greiten coached 26 years at Racine Case as the boys’ cross country head coach. During that time, 18 teams qualified for state with 14 teams finishing in the top five; three of those won state titles (‘73, ‘75, ‘89). In February of 2007, Coach Greiten was inducted into the Wisconsin High School Track and Field Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame for his successful career as the head track and field coach at Racine Case High School and St. Catherine’s High School in Racine. Greiten has also been involved with the Footlocker National High School Championships and was inducted into the Wisconsin Cross Country Coaches Association’s Hall of Fame in 1993. Greiten is considered one of the most knowledgeable and respected individuals in distance running in the Midwest.

    Mark Maas

Mark is the head boys’ and girls’ track and field coach at Whitewater High School. Since Maas took over thirteen years ago, Whitewater has won thirteen girls’ and ten boys’ Southern Lakes Conference titles in track. In 2006 at the WIAA State Track and Field Meet, Maas’ girls’ team finished in a tie for third place and the boys’ team finished fifth in Division 2. Other top finishes for the Whitewater girls’ team include Division 2 State Runner-up in 1998 and 2000, and Division 2 State Champions in 1997 and 1999. The boys’ team finished third at state in 1996 and were WIAA Division 2 State Runner-up in 1997. Maas is well known for his enthusiasm and motivational skills and has been a presenter numerous times at the Wisconsin High School Track and Field Coaches Clinic. Mark is the past president of the Wisconsin Track and Field Coaches Association. He continues to travel to other parts of the country representing the State of Wisconsin at national high school track and field clinics, conferences, a d conventions.

These are the guys that I trust without any reason of a doubt.

Or you could stop acting like such a girl. (not that there is anything wrong with being a girl. I love pretty much all girls) Because you act like one you make me think you are one and a 16 whatever seems like a girl 4k pace.

It is not MY fault the you act like a girl online.

    Re: 5k times?

Those seem really slow.  I could just have really bad idea of times, but I think they are too slow.

accurate, except for italicized part, 17 to 17:40 seems a little too quick for a "good sophmore"

By the way, for boys, sub 15 isn't Olympic standard.. maybe sub 14 or even lower.
