Gels AGAIN........

Any one have advice on any specific gel that I may use. Been using GU gel but this gets me very bloated and upsets my stomach. Currently training for my 2nd marathon, any advice will surely help... Thanks & happy running.................

GU Energy Gels contain fructose, which some people have trouble digesting. (This could explain the bloating/GI distress.) Clif Bar makes Clif Shots (gels) and Shot Bloks (gummy squares) which are sweetened with brown rice syrup rather than fructose. (Plus, Clif's products are mostly organic, so they don't contain a lot of the preservatives and artifical flavorings/colorings that a lot of other products have.) I'm sure there are a number of other energy gels out there without fructose (if that's the issue) although I don't know the others offhand.

I was going to suggest that it may be the caffeine upsetting your stomach. If that is the case the Cliff gels don't have caffeine (I beleive), so you may want to give those a try.
