Another question. For those talking about pole vaulting in track, are you in high school or college. Cause in my high school we aren't allowed to pole vault.

I'm a junior in high school. I don't really see why you can't...maybe it's too expensive or something? Or it could be a safety issue...I dunno. Sucks for you, though.

Re: track vs XC
I think it's more of a safety issue than anything else, but i'm not 100% sure.

Re: track vs XC
xc is way better. it just seems to be so much funner than track cause a lot of sprinters arent like distance guys.

BIASED! But for the greater good, cause I must agree XC is better, but this is my first year running and i haven't tried out for short distance track. When it comes to the 2 miler, though, XC is definately a lot more fun except for my very first track meet where i took a wrong turn, had to back-track and finished 24 minutes on a 2 mile course; ouch.

Please don't laugh or else nobody will ever find your body. MUAHAHA!

Re: track vs XC
Cross country is for the guts

Track is for the glory

That's my take on it. XC is insane and I absolutley love it. But no one really sees you, or at least the whole race or outcome, until the end by the finish line.
Track however, people can see your whole race and you can get all the kudos, even if you're not that strong of a runner, your coach will find a race to stick you in.

The oval gets boring though....how do you guys occupy yourself or your mind when you've got 8 laps? I've been trying to think of something but can't really do it. Usually I focus on passing people or keeping my place but I get bored really easily when the scenary is just an oval, lol.

Uhhhh..................you guys are both gonna get beat one of these days, and I know exactly why. Have fun with that.

Then its a race between the 2 of us. We just talk about how we r gonna finish the race and when we stop being partners and start racing each other. Now i am not saying that i like track better cuz i love XC alot more. Track is my summer sport and i love it 2 just not as much.

Are you in middle school or something? Because if your in high school that's pathetic and I wish I were in your region. I guarnatee you couldn't do that in my region.
