Customizing shoes

I thought this would be cool if I painted my shoes with paint pens... what a bad choice. Any suggestions for my malevolent creation?

anyone have any sweet custom shoes they wanna share?

as you can see, they were pretty ugly before as well.

I have both orange and silver paint pens that I bought for $3.50 and I really wanna use them.... im wondering if I should put neon orange on them, or retire the pens... is neon orange too much?

Something quite cool but that would take a long time would be to paint the blue on the Asics symbol, lace holder, and the rubber bottom sole that shows neon orange and put some silver on the insole so you can't see the blue anymore. Oh and change the laces to something else, like black or white, and you have a completely new pair of spikes. You can guarantee already that no one has the same shoes as you...

yes, good idea. I think I will get some new laces for them... thanks :P

My track spikes are all white, so I'll just do them in 100% neon orange.

Kjb, completely off topic, but that's neat you have a last.fm page. I have one too, but I've only actually been using it for a couple days now. It's a pretty cool website though.

Won't the paint add weight to the racers? I would be taking excess stuff off instead of painting them onto racers (unless retired). But I do think they look freaking awesome and neon orange is a must for those shoes now.

Nah the paint doesn't make a difference at all really. How much weight could a layer of paint possibly add from a marker? That's like splitting hairs

i think I will put the neon orange on them. I'll take another picture of them tomorrow once I finish. I can't wait to deck out my track shoes, they're so much cooler. I'll make them both different :P

yeah here is the final one I decided on... I didn't put any orange on. I think I will eventually though

i put the white laces in.
