Re: How Long Do Your Shoes Last?
In general they last me a season. But now, I've been running a lot more so I need to get them more often. For example, I've needed 2 for the cross country season. I got a pair of expensive good shoes so I stretched them to the max of about 500 miles.

A good rule of thumb is every 300-500 miles I think.

Re: How Long Do Your Shoes Last?
My last pair lasted about 500 miles before I started getting niggling injuries that were probably to do with the shoes.

Re: How Long Do Your Shoes Last?
I need one pair for the summer, one for XC (and a bit into indoor) and one pair for the rest of indoor and outdoor. I normally get a new pair of flats at the end of each XC season.

Oh, and don't wear them around for like walking and school and such. That messes them up. Use them for just running.

800-1000 miles. Don't wear supportive shoes, they don't last.

Re: How Long Do Your Shoes Last?
I would go with 300-500 miles. Of course now that will depend on the shoes you wear as well. Racing flats won't last quite as long. New Balance for me don't seem to last as long as say Brooks or Asics. This is just what I have found. I also remember someone telling me the New Balance uses a softer sole so they wear a little quicker. No facts on that statement.

I typically will replace my shoes as well when my knees begin to ache. Now I run typically rotating 3 - 4 pair of shoes. I use the newer shoes for my longer runs. It helps prevent some unneeded pain in the knees and keeps the shoes around a little longer.

Hope this helps.
