Jordin people on here will reply fairly quick. (most of the time) Although the people here have strong opinions and will defend them to the end. Just check out "whats a way to stop "dreading" long distance runs?" if you already haven't, the opinions are very strong.  Now to answer your question, I don't listen to music anymore because it would distract me. I prefer to listen to my feet hitting the ground. I used to listen to music and I liked it, but I never liked my playlist and it was hard to find the right one. Besides, when you race your aren't going to listen to music, so I figured why not train the way I am going to race (without music).

My most essential pump-up race music is usually a mix of a select few Eminem songs; and most anything from Rise Against. Kinda strange combo but I love it.

My music for regular runs ranges from The Eagles to Blink 182 to Linkin Park to Nirvana to Led Zeppelin. I have a few specific songs from each artist that I inevitabely find myself listening to every time.

I usually listen to a combination of The Prodigy, Dragonforce, 3 Inches of Blood, and the Benassi Bros.

Anyone fans of any of the above?

When I did listen to music, I usually listened to either classical or movie motivational rock. (i.e. Going the distance, Live to win, Rocky theme, any rock-inspired montage) Then I chose to run the way I said eariler.

NOT CLASSIC ROCK, otherwise known as the original stuff. The first is always the best.
