First year of college running

For those of you guys who run/are going to run in college...what kind of times were you running going into your first year of college xc (1600,3200, 5K). And how did you do with the 8K? How hard was it for you to adjust to the 8K distance?
Going into school I was running 16:40s for 5km.
At school I ran mid-27ish for 8km.
Not a difficult adjustment but in high school XC we ran 7km so that might have made a difference. The jump to 10km in university is pretty tough though.
I assume you're trying to get an idea of what you'll be capable of running next year. What are you running now and I (or someone else here) could give you a pretty decent indicator. But remember times aren't that important in your first year. Adjusting to the work is what matters.

Low 16 for 5k.

In your first year at college most coaches will understand that there is a huge change in your lifestyle and most likely a change in your training. They won't be expecting you to go out and dominate in your freshman year. Their goal is to get the most out of you by the time you finish college (and beyond).
This is also part of the reason why so many runners redshirt their first season.

First, Crazy are you in college now or planning to run in college? I was in the mid-18's in the fall for 5K, and could probably run mid to low 18's right now, just haven't had the chance lately. I'll be running D3, btw. I'll probably do a 5 miler this summer to see where I'm at as far as 8K goes, but I'm still a little apprehensive about that distance, even though for the most part I feel more comfortable with longer distances.
