tradition man...
I like the football team, they throw some good parties =] and most of them are really chill.

Well tradition... but mostly in a fun loving, teasing kind of way. Plus football players are hot! I can't hate'em!!! lol
They are the polar oposits.
Most football players are big (as in not tall), slow, can only sprint for like 30 seconds, have no stamina, have weaker lungs and hearts.
Most XC players are big (as in tall), fast, can run for 2 hours without stopping, have a lot of stamina, have very very strong lungs and hearts and gets more out of our sport.
Because football players are f-in morons.
Football=Dumb, fat, slow, stupid, pointless, cocky, big, self-centered, waste of oxigen, waste of space, waste of waste.
xc=chill, cool, sexy.
How are football players hot. I suppose if you go for the dumb fat look.

well at my school all the "popular" type of guys do football. not so much for xc
Sorry kids - an old man checking in to your thread...
If you think those football players are hotter than the XC guys - then give'em 10 years out of school and see which are hotter.
MANY of the football guys will be pushing 300 pounds and "remembering their high school days" while they drink their cheap beer on a Friday night.
The XC guys will likely still be active in their sport, and trim and hot to boot.

because they think that all we do is go out a jog a mile. then I put them in their place by saying "Yep! It's a nice and easy warm-up!" and then after their jaws drop and a few seconds of juicy, victorious silence pass by, i go "Oh yeah, we do another one for a cool-down, too! sometimes we do two miles..." and they're just speechless. Some of them ask "but then aren't you all tired for your workout?" and of course I explain to them that running a mile is the perfect way to energize up for an 8 mile long run at the speed of their fastest sprint. They don't know what hit them lol (it's a 300 pound linebacker for all they know!!!).
and yeah, I'd love to see some of these mediocre high school football players in their 40s lmao. while i'm all fit and slim and still have killer legs, they'll be sitting on a couch with a beerbelly =P
Never really seen any of that "cross country is for pussies" crap from football players. In fact, most of them run sprints in track and they know just how hard it is.
Though I gotta say, some of those football players can actually run pretty well for endurance.
yea well in 10 years yea but most of us being teens just look at what the situation is right now.
but seriously most of the people on the football team are the popular kids who arent "fat". they wouldnt want to be "fat" because that'd ruin their popularity image. but xc has maybe a few popular kids, but not really like football..
so even though you guys are saying all this, its kind of weird
(yea im a xc runner too)
Football and XC get along good at our school.
Im the big xc star at my school and the big football star at my school happens to be my best friend. It just worked out that way so the footballers give me lots of respect but not so much for the others on the team.
I don't hate all the football players (unless they give me real reason to) just because they chose the easy way out. I just hate the 'cockieness' of the sport and how even some of the xc runners care as much or more bout football than their own sport.
