lazy butt former runners

I broke my vow! I said I would run til the day I die! Now 6 long months have passed since my last race and I still have not run. At least not more than once or twice a week and even less so after school started again. How could I let this happen!
For all of you who still run, you all are probably thinking, how can you not keep running? But alas, it's true!

okay, on a serious note...how do I get started again? I have literally stopped going to runs. I did that at least once a week for a good part of the summer but I don't run at all now.

Be prepared to grimace and bear it for a week or two before you actually start enjoying running again. Think about all the glorious runner's highs you will soon be having!

Re: lazy butt former runners
I just got started again a few weeks ago after taking some time off after races, so I can relate.

The key is to start slow and short. Go for 20 minutes the first couple of times, or maybe 30 minutes, as slowly as you want. The important thing is just to get out there 5-6 times a week. It comes back quickly, but you have to get out there regularly.
