Running Films?

I was wondering if there was any movies related to running that are actually decent. Does anyone know of any?

THE JERICHO MILE was a movie I really enjoyed. It was made in 1979 kind of hard to find now. Peter Strauss was in it. Google it and read about it.

Re: Running Films?
I watched one recently about a young boy that made a deal with god. if he ran the Boston marathon... god would let his mother be cured from cancer.
Funny , dramatic ,sad, exciting. The end was phenominal. A good old fashioned rooting for the underdog type of story.
I believe it was called KING RALPH.One of the best running/Sport movies ever.

Race for the Soul[/URL" target="_blank">

I got the DVD and it came with bonus footage on a seperate DVD too. Netflix does not have it, but they do have the Badwater movie- Running on the Sun.

Saint Ralph is the title of the movie about the young boy who runs Boston. It's fictional, but includes some cool running scenes (both practice and race), plus, it's a sweet story.

Re: Running Films?
I'm kind of a movie nut with a speciality in running movies...

You can get 'Jericho Mile' on amazon.co.uk. It's in English, but it's a region 2 disc. So you need a region-free player, or else you can make a region-free copy on your computer, if you have a DVD writer. (Not that I would ever do something like that!)

Other great running movies which I didn't see mentioned:

'On The Edge' (1985, looks like 1975) w/ Bruce Dern - supposed to be some big Dipsea Trail-like race, actually filmed all in Marin County. Pretty cool for anyone who runs those trails, and Bruce Dern is a pretty darn good runner!

'Running Madness' another Western States 100 movie. I saw it in a film festival last year, you can buy it on their website.

'The Runner' - documentary on David Horton running the Pacific Crest Trail. He ran 40 miles / day for 66 straight days with a total of 500,000 ft of climbing! All due respect to DK, 50 marathons in 50 days doesn't quite compare. You also need to buy this one from their website.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner (1962)

Running on the Sun is a good one.
