Looking for thoughts on jogging strollers

We're expecting a baby in several months. It would be nice to get a jogging stroller that could serve as an everyday stroller as well. Do you have any suggestions or experience that could help us pick out a decent model?

Thanks.

Look into the BOB Revolution. If I had it to do over again, I would probably get that one. Pricey, but has a lot of cool options. Not sure how it will work out when baby is in the infant seat though. Cool thing about it, you can lock out the front wheel for runs or unlock it so that it swivels and you can then take it in the mall or crowds and turn on a dime. That would be the big issue to me with wanting an every day/ jogging stroller.

Keep in mind that you cannot jog with an infant under at LEAST six months old. THe BOB series stroller is great because of the wheel thing however it lacks in support for the baby which is more important of course. There is a cushion called the kiddopatumus (sp?) available at all baby stores and they are a fantastic cradling cusion to put in your baby's stroller for support for the first few months. My kids loved cosying up in theirs and inventaully my chihuahua inherited it!

Congratulations on your baby to be...my experieince with running with my baby has been the best thing is to have someone watch the baby while I go run...and I was very determined to run with my baby but it just was too **** hard with the cars and people not moving out of the way and the baby getting fussy. I never really had a "good" run and was usually aggravated when I got back - but everyone is different. My daughter is four now and she wants to run with me now side by side HOW COOL IS THAT

Re: Looking for thoughts on jogging strollers
i'd look for a used one. There are lots of running mom's out there who's little angles refused to sit in the stroller. I got my jogger at Once upon a child for $25 bucks. It certainly looked brand new. But neither of us ever really liked it.
At first I imagine you'll want a regular stroller that holds the car seat. I cannot tell you how much more valuable that will be to you than a jogging stroller!!
Also, while shopping for a jogger I learned some wouldn't fit through a standard door. Why? God only knows but it's true.
I'd go to Babies R us after the little tyke is here and run some laps around the store, testing manuvers and what not. Also a good strap is a thing. Mine was a bit long so we just fashioned one out of some velcro cord

I second Hugie's whole second paragraph.

Re: Looking for thoughts on jogging strollers
Ihave the Baby Jogger II from 12 years age and the Baby Jogger III and I love them both - There is a new version that has some nicer features like a better sun shade. My husband and I push each one of our boys on a very hill terain with little difficulty.
The down side is the stroller doesn't fold as easy as others( The city edition does fold better than the performace edition.) and it is wide so it is cumbersome to put into a small cars trunk.
Also there is a car seat attachment bar available if you want to use it for walks when the baby is small.
