Gift Ideas that I can copy

I am at a loss as to what to buy for anyone this year. I have to buy for our 5 children ages 2-17! My parents, his mother and brother and my niece and nephew. What are y'all buying for people this year?

Re: Gift Ideas that I can copy
Well, it really depends so much on their interests.

My daughter (15) is so busy with school and co-curricular activities that there's no point in getting her books or craft stuff -- even though she likes to read and do crafts. So we're getting her speakers for her iPod and gift cards to buy clothes (she always has time to wear clothes!)

DH is very hard to buy for but this year he's getting an iPod Touch (because he would never guess that) and a digital photo frame.

My mom wants a panini grill so my sister and I are getting that. We're also considering getting her DVR (TiVo) because watching TV is her favorite leisure activity.

Nieces and nephews are getting board games, video games, books, depending on what they like to do with their time. Since we don't see them regularly, we have to ask their parents for ideas.

Oh, and for the adults in our family (brothers & sisters, etc.) we have been doing donations for years instead of needless gifts. This year our money is going to the Central Asia Institute...they build schools for remote towns in Afghanistan and Pakistan. We also bought a "One Laptop Per Child" package.

The pre-teen/teen niece/nephews are each getting a Nike drawstring bag ($10 at Rackroom shoes, come in all colors) with a little bit of cash inside....

Re: Gift Ideas that I can copy
We've whittled our gift giving to the bare minimum much to my financial relief. We used to give to everyone on both sides of the family tree which proved to be incredibly expensive. Since drawing names didn't go over well, we flat out said we're no longer doing gift exchanges with aunts, uncles, siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews. No more.

For kids, some clothes, books, CDs, amusement park passes and we have electronics from throughout the year and last year so we don't need anymore of those. DH will get clothes and shoes.

I certainly don't need any more stuff. I'm so glad we scaled back on gift exchanges. It will definitely save our pocketbook this year and hopefully many holidays thereafter. Baked goods for neighbors. That's it.
