If you have cassette option over FM option, I would go for cassette because it is more reliable than the FM.

In my hubby's car he has a charger that's plugged into the cigarette lighter so the ipod is constantly charged...and the ipod is plugged into the cassette player.

Well, I do currently have a cassette option. I will probably have that for at least another year, as I don't plan on getting rid of this car for at least that long.

But I don't think the cassette adapter has a charger built into it.

How much do the car chargers for nanos run? We are all getting new nanos as a surprise at our corporate offsite this week (it's not a surprise to me because I placed the order and I'm pretty sure nobody from my office is checking my posts here). If it's just a cassette adapter I can get one for very cheap and will pick one up by Thursday so i can listen to it in the car on the way home! :P

go to any radioshack or Walmart for that matter for the cassette adapter. You do not need one that is specially made for an ipod(and those cost more anyway).

I forget how much a charger will cost...not too much. You should be able to pick one of those up at a radioshack/best buy etc.

I know! It's the 8 gig nano with video, too. I ordered two of every color, plus an extra one in red (an odd number of attendees). I do hope I get blue though.

Even in little Bloomington IN, I don't have much luck w/ the iTrip. I think there are a bunch of church Very Low Power stations in the area, or something.

Same here in littler Dubuque, Iowa. I don't have the iTrip (that didn't work very well at all in my stereo), but I have something similar by Belkin. One of the more annoying aspects is that when you're on a road trip, you keep having to change the FM station, which means you then have to change the frequency on the adapter to find something where the interference is low enough for the iPod to be listenable.

Strangely enough, my adapter gave very good results once when I was in downtown Chicago.

We got the nanos yesterday. They are really neat. I got a black one and traded somebody for a red one, and then retraded for a green one. I like it a lot.

I borrowed somebody's tape deck adapter and listened to it on the way home. Worked great and it's a real cheap one so that's what I'll do until I upgrade my car.

You can buy chargers for the iPod at TJMaxx and Marshalls, discounted. Minw eork fine. They also sell FM transmitters.
