one boy, thousands of girls

With so many Mass folks here, I'm surprised no one has posted this article[/URL" target="_blank">, yet. It's about a "boy" who, through an exchange policy, is the only male at Wellesley.

Guys, do you think of this guy as a male hero or a *****? He says he's doing it for pure motives, not just to up his chances. (He looks like he needs all the help he can get, though.)

My favorite quote from the article: "His parents, who dropped him off on campus, were surprised to see so many women, mostly because Usman had failed to tell them that Wellesley was a women's college." Oops!

Re: one boy, thousands of girls
I don't think it's a big deal. I'm sure he's getting laid left, right and sideways. But good on him for keeping it under his hat. Or wherever.

As to the article JimR posted:

the "F*ck Truck" - hilarious!!!!

For a straight male professor, a women's college offers obvious temptations. In every class, there are at least a few admirers, especially if he has that "professor sex appeal." And having that appeal doesn't necessarily mean he's good-looking?indeed, says a student, many of the most sought-after professors "definitely do not fall into the good-looking category."

...

Senior Claire Denning explains that when women at Wellesley have crushes on professors, the attraction is expressed in terms such as, "He's so intelligent. He made eye contact with me today in class. He calls on me more than he calls on the other girls." And the attraction is not usually based on appearance. "Some of these professors are chubby, short, dirty-looking," says Claire. "But there's something about them that's very attractive, and I don't think it's necessarily the way they look."

This "being a woman" thing is such a rip. Yeah, I can get laid whenever I want, but where's my coterie of adoring young bucks? Oh wait, I do have that - but they're all gay.

But makeda, that means you're an icon. Like Judy Garland or Bette Davis.

I had a friend who was the first male let in to a formerly all girl university. There was something like 50 guys compared to 3-4,000 girls.
