You see stay at home mom's crossing the finish line carrying their kids, 60 year old grandmothers, overweight 20 something year olds. It's everybody and we all know how freaking hard they had to work to get there. It's just amazing. I am stuck on this computer watching every Ironmanlive and am always especially moved by those late night finishers.<HR>

Yep...you said it well Kristine. These are the finishers who really inspire

Re: IMUSA (Lake Placid) Tracker
Hey guys! Thanks for tracking us all day. I knew you would be and it kept me moving through the day. I am so thrilled with my 14:03! I was hoping for sub-14, but my main goal was to keep running and I was able to do that. We went down to cheer on the final finishers. What a party it is at the finish line for the last hour. Awesome!

I passed snigglefritz about 1/3 through the second loop of the bike. For some reason, I was able to remember her number and I yelled out to her. It looks like we were close for the rest of the race and she must have passed me at some point after that, but I didn't see her.

It was a very hot day on the bike and run. Also, the wind kicked up for the second lap of the bike, so that was no fun.

This is an amazing race. Beautiful and challenging course. Absolutely amazing support from spectators all day long. And, of course the volunteers are the best.

Thanks again for keeping us moving out there. Full RR to come later this week.

P.S. I kept up TriBob's tradition of a smiley face on the back of my run shirt. I got lots of comments on it!!

Re: IMUSA (Lake Placid) Tracker
Hey Everyone!!

Thanks for keeping track of all us MS peeps doing IMLP this weekend. I was thinking of you guys off and on all day when I was out on the course. I'm still working through my thoughts on Ironman, my race, etc., but I promise a race report will be up soon.

I'm so proud of my wife Kristin (snigglefritz) who had a bang-up day on Sunday....She puts 100% into everything she does and the Ironman was no different!

Just wanted to drop a quick note and say Thanks for all of the support...now where did I put my beer????

Nick

Re: IMUSA (Lake Placid) Tracker
Thanks to all of you for following along. It helped knowing all of my "imaginary" friends were cheering me on back home. I didn't have any internet access while I was in LP so this is the first time I have had to check in. It was an amazing day, an experience that is just unparalleled. I had some stomach trouble on the run which I can't figure out. I spent probably at least 20 minutes in those stink boxes but I guess that is part of the game. Gotta work on that.

It was truly an amazing day and I will certainly do another someday. The best was sharing the day with my hubby (Broadbill, aka Nick). It was awesome seeing him on the course and realizing how well he was doing. He has really improved and I am just so impressed by him. It was just so cool to do this together. I am a lucky Ironlady.

Well, time to get back to my wine and ibuprofen. Thanks again for being awesome Ironfans!!!

I also owe a thank you to Sheldon for getting us to the start in one piece and well-prepared. I knew he was following us and I wanted to make him proud. Thanks coach!

Originally posted by ussoccer: Doyles. I'll meet you there in 15 minutes. I'll buy.

There are also beers for you at the Portsmouth Brewery . Just let me know when you want to claim them.

Congratulations to all the IMLPers. You are all amazing and I thank you for sharing your experiences with me. I don't know if I'll ever do an IM but your IM stores inspire me in my little sprint I do once a year.

Re: IMUSA (Lake Placid) Tracker
Ok, I think we need a tri-state pub crawl since I live in Portland ME now (yes, Broadbill is still in Boston, yet another element of challenge in our lives!). Start at Doyles, then up to Portsmouth and then to Portland for some Shipyard and Gritty McDuffs! Anyone up for the Lobsterman tri Sept 15th? It doesn't start until 11am so it is easy to drive for the day from MA Free beer after and a lobster bake (not free but still cool).
