2 hour long run for me. Ended up being about 11 miles. Miserably humid this morning and got more miserable as the sun rose. Shorts were dripping sweat down my legs by mile 6. I fogot body glide on the nips this morning and felt it in the shower. Ouch!

22.5mi bike through Fremont, Epping, Newfields, Exeter and Brentwood NH. As my RSA friend would say "I arb'd around".

With no real plan in mind other than to go at least 20mi I explored new places just trying to spin and keep the pace up. I just headed east. It was fun and saw some neat things. I got to ride a long way on a newly paved road (NH87 through Epping/Newfields) up and down fun rollers and past farms, rivers and ponds and the mystery sign that points to Hedding. There were plenty of bikers out on this route so I knew I found a good road. I turned off on a country road with some good climbing and a screamer down the other side to connect over to NH27. Heading back west was a slow and painful with a hot & steamy headwind on tired legs from yesterday's run.

My ride took me back through Epping on 27/Main St. and then I cut over into Fremont past the farm there were people out flying their remote control planes and another field was full of trucks and horse trailers for the weekend horse show. It's really pretty country out here and the roads were quiet this morning.

I enjoyed my Sunday morning ride. I had planned to do a brick but my legs are much more toast than usual so I will give them a break until tomorrow.

Good workouts and weekend to all!

Hot, hot, hot! Shoo.....

58 mile bike/2 mile run brick in the humidity...I think nutrition went well because my legs felt great for the run-- though with the heat, I was glad I wasn't going 13.1 !

Ran my worst ever HM yesterday. Today it was right back at it...

Easy ride. I did this one for me. Did one of my usual routes--up to Prospect on one side of the river, back on the other. Not sure exactly what happened, but on the way back there are two fairly decent hills (for central Ohio!). I'm thinking, these hills are coming up, then realized I had already done them but didn't remember doing them. Am I losing my mind?!

53m (exactly!), 3:30, 15.1mph

Home long enough to shower and grab something to eat, then headed to the beach. As expected, boats had the water pretty stirred up. Did the length of the beach twice. Must have cut it short or something (I start in the middle at the main guard stand), because I cut 3mins off of Friday's time. No way was I swimming that much faster! Whatever, after being tossed around like a cork in a washing maching, I was glad to be done! Afterwards I got to talking with another swimmer. He asked me to zip up his wetsuit for him. Okay...... Anyway, he said that the length of the beach is a short half, so two would be a short mile. Whatever, it was a good 36min swim.

Ran with orthodics for the first time today. They're broken in...just feels odd. Didn't hurt.

1/4 mile OW swim
9 mile bike
3 mile run.

Survived first tri. Got to meet runnerbee yesterday, and, in a field of 1400, I ended up racked RIGHT next to a sweeeet little Cervelo P3 piloted by runnerparis. Small world/transition area.

A real RR after I get home... or maybe tomorrow if I pass out once I get home.

(Oops, posted this on the wrong day earlier.)

Uh... Up at 3:00AM, spent 5:00AM to 11:30AM volunteering at Danskin tri. Then had a raft of friends over for afternoon swim & BBQ. Goodnight.

Rest day for me.

I was supposed to have spent some quality TLC time with my drivetrain this afternoon but BrewDad voted for the Brewer's Festival to celebrate his triumphant multisport debut (like I needed my arm twisted). As a teaser, the man had a better bike split on a hybrid than I did on my fancy tri bike yesterday. I'm proud but want to kill him at the same time. He'll be posting his RR soon.

Saturday - rest day with kids ... DW off to Webster to do Danskin.

Sunday - 10 mile run (or close enough) - 8:20 pace ... with marathon training neighbor. DS was still asleep when I got back (after late night with dad) and DD was only up 1/2 hour or so. Run was okay for 5-6 miles until neighbor cranked it up ... finished the rest solo (and a bit slower than first half).

Afternoon - 2300 yard swim easy at outdoor pool upon DW's return.

DW had a fun time ... Her 3rd Danskin and a 2 min PR. So-so swim, some bike issues (couldn't unclip coming into transition), but a solid run and faster transitions helped make the race. She was up with 5 or 6 women from town, and all she and 3 training buddies were all within 40 seconds of each other's times - so everyone happy

Reg.

Sounds like a great bonding experience wit the new wheels. Is that your longest ride to date?? I need to head down your way more often ... I sometimes go down as head down 87 to Newfields a bit, but meander upwards instead of downward into Brentwood/Exeter/Kingston etc ... I'll have to broaden biking horizons

Glad you're enjoying yourself!
