Re: Detroit Free Press Marathon?
A taxi ride (or 'Metro car' as I mentioned) is probably $40-$50, my pure guess, based on the similar distance (airport to my house to a different direction). As for the tunnel, your marathon finisher's certificate shows "underwater tunnerl time" - it is a little over 1mile. Pretty cool.

Pacer Tom!! Good to see your post. Hope your injury is healing well and you get back to the full swing of things. I would love to run another Detroit, maybe next year, for PR.

Re: Detroit Free Press Marathon?
You don't need to rent a car. You will just have to pay a nightly fee to park it at whatever hotel you are staying at. Get a ride from someone or get a taxi. You can ride the people mover around downtown Detroit.

That amusement park you were talking about was Boblo Island. I can remember going there as a kid. Sadly it is no longer there.

If you like stadiums and ballparks we have two brand new nice ones!

If you run with Tom you will have a fun time! He is a great pacer! He tells a joke at every mile! Whatever pace you run I am certain you will have someone to run with.

Re: Detroit Free Press Marathon?
Thor, the fastest "normal" pace team we'll have is 3:10. However, this year at Detroit we'll have a special 2:47 pace team that starts in the first corral, designed to help aspiring ladies meet the women's olympic trials qualifying standard.

You can find more info on the pace teams here:
