Spinal Tap definitely RULES. If you haven't seen the DVD release, the cut scenes add about 1/2 hour of some (mostly) funny stuff - but I think the trimmed length was perfect (love the scene where they're running around looking for the stage - heck ... what scene isn't good?)

I also love Waiting for Guffman (more than "Best In Show" or "A Mighty Wind") - but maybe that's 'cos of HS theater days.

The "My Dinner With Andre" action figures crack me up, as well as Corky St Clair (another Saint) getting angry:

Corky St. Clair: Well, then, I just HATE you... and I hate your... ***... FACE!

This is going to be the endless thread

Add two more votes (one each, of course) for L.A. Story and Local Hero. (Reg, I'll have to check out those others.)

Anyone else see Steve Martin's "The Man With Two Brains"?

Or how about an obscure little film with Steve Zahn and Bill Macy called "Happy Texas"? Both just silly fun.

Yes! I absolutely love Waiting for Guffman. Although they're all great, Waiting for Guffman is my favorite. Guest's character Corky seriously makes that movie. Three of my favorite quotes:

Corky St. Claire: Here's the Remains of the Day lunchbox. Kids don't like eating at school, but if they have a Remains of the Day lunchbox they're a lot happier.

Corky again: It's a Zen thing, like how many babies fit in a tire.

Ron Albertson (Fred Willard): We consider ourselves bi-costal if you consider the Mississippi River one of the coasts.

Libby (Parker Posey, who's a hottie): I been workin' here at the D.Q. for about, um... eight months? Seven? I don't know, somethin' like that, it's fun. Just do the cones... make sundaes, make Blizzards, 'n... put stuff on 'em, 'n... see a lot of people come in, a lot of people come to the D.Q... burgers... ice cream... anything, you know? Cokes... just drive in and get a Coke, if you're thirsty.

Coincidentally, the guy who wrote the script for Tremors 3, was my buddy in the "mawage" priest story in my earlier post.

I also did some computer geeking for the guy who wrote My Cousin Vinny. When he was writing that movie, he said "my cousin vinny" would be paying the invoice I gave him. At first I thought he had a cousin named Vinny, and I didn't understand why he'd be paying me.

I have watched "MY cousin Vinnie so many times that Lucy and I turn off the sound and voice the words. We take turns with who plays who, but mostly I play Vinnie and she plays anyone talkiing to Vinnie. It's a hoot, especially when we know what they are gonna say and say something completely off the wall to throw the other person off.

I just saw Happy Texas the other day. Holy **** was that funny. Steve Zahn showing those kids how to dance is worth watching for that reason alone.
I can't believe nobody has listed The Jerk. He's shooting at these cans. Stay away from the cans.

The Man with two brains...Great movie!

I married an Axe Murderer. someone upthread mentioned that. I liked that too, as well as Wayne's World1 and 2, and the first Austin Powers.

I know what movie is going in the DVD player tonight:

Man in Black: You guessed wrong.
Vizzini: You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! Ha ha ha...
Vizzini: Vizzini stops suddenly, and falls dead to the right

Hawk the Slayer...I know, this dates me, but Jack Palance just rocks in this weird, low-budget, sci-fi, middle ages thriller.
