Fall tri--what to wear?

I'm doing my first sprint tri at the end of September. Deer Creek if anyone has done it. For my OW swims, I've been trying out tri shorts and various shirts. I've found a sleeveless running shirt that has been working well. Except, I'm wondering if this will be warm enough in another month. I don't want to spend a lot of $$$. Plus I already have a drawer full of running and cycling stuff--none of which will work for the swim. Suggestions???

What are your average temps at that time of year? Around here (central Indiana), it'll probably still be pretty summerish in a month. Depends on where you are.

I have a very tight long sleeved UnderArmour shirt that works well for swimming when it's cold out. And it fits under my wetsuit. Just be sure to BodyGlide your armpits - talk about chafing!!!

I should clarify - I wore my long sleeve UA shirt for a triathlon. Oly distance. Other than the armpit chafing, it worked great.
