Yep. Break it up into drills, intervals, etc... especially the longer swims. I always have one thing that I'm timing myself on to keep me challenged, then I do stuff with the kickboard, paddles, fins, etc... I like doing drills like 50 pull, 50 kick, 50 swim because I have to really pay attention to what I'm on. Changing up what you're doing more frequently like that makes it go by faster instead of doing 200 pull, 200 kick, etc... KWIM? They also make ipods you can swim in. I personally don't want to invest in one, but if I swam a lot (more than once a week as I am now), I'd probably find it helpful, as it sure helps me when running!
