Survival of the Shawangunks

Has anyone ever done this eight stage triathlon? I am doing it on September 9, 2007. Any advice would be appreciated.

Looks like an awesome race, but I'm not sure I'm tough enough to ever handle it. That cold water is enough to turn me off. I hope you enjoy yourself.

There's quite a few folks over on Slowtwitch who have done it. You can search the posts there. I was reading a thread today about it, in fact. They were pondering whether you should keep your shoes on during the swims or stuff them in your shorts. Interesting stuff!!

Are you going to do the SOS and American Zofingen double challenge? AmZof is definitely a race I have my eye on (no cold swimming!!).

Good luck!!

Wow, sounds like an awesome adventure! I have no insights for you, but I wanted to wish you the best... and beg for a race report once you've recovered.

Rock that amazing course! And pinch yourself once in a while to make sure you know it's not all part of some amazing multi-sport dream. Though, in a way, it probably is.
