Well, I didn't know what I might be able to do, if anything this weekend, so I was hesitant to pre-pledge. But, I started feeling pretty mobile late yesterday morning. (Just in time for the pain to hit again after PT on Monday!).
I got a last-minute late afternoon invite from a friend who had a free lawn-seat ticket to Pine Knob to see my ultimate, all-time favorite AEROSMITH, last night which cheered me up hugely. I could not afford my fan club tickets, this time around, and after the accident, I couldn't even afford a lawn seat ticket. But my friend had an extra ticket, and refused my offer to pay, so off I went for a very fun, loud, rocking, wonderful evening. You can put me down for two crappy MGD light beers, which I always have at an Aerosmith concert, and I swear they never taste so good any other time.
I was so wound up I didn't even get to sleep until after 2:00, but I was awake by 8:30, sore, but feeling good, so I took off on a run, planning on around 8 miles. I told myself up to the 4 mile point that if I didn't feel good, I could just turn around, but I took it slow and workmanlike and ended up with 8.4 miles in 1:20. right around 9:30/mile, I thinkl so I am hugely satisfied by that.
I had the weird nerve sensations a couple of times, but they weren't painful, so I'd just slow down, and the sensation kind of passed along each time, although I have a lingering tingling there, so obviously all is still not well. But I am thrilled because this is easily my longest run since a couple of days before the accident. I finally felt like "a runner" again, and I am happy to be able to contribute my 8.4 miles and two rockin' beers to the IMWI tally!!
Edited to add:
Almost forgot I also had my first asthma attack in over 3 weeks, while running this morning. I was even almost happy to have one of those again, for it meant that I was exerting myself in this 67 degree/96% humidity weather.
