My Winter Retreat

Off season rocks sometimes. I spent 3.5 hours today with my boys cleaning the garage, setting up my old bike on the computrainer, getting all the wires taped down, setting up the PC/Video interface to finally work (!) so now I can see the computrainer on a 36" TV instaed of a 11.1" laptop screen. BIG DIFFERENCE!

Entryway, that part is still a mess but I don't care since I don't workout there As long as there is a path to the door... good 'nuff.

Although you can't see it behind the goofballs, the boys had their bikes (and tractor) all lined up perfectly! (and PS - that tractor is a "RACE TRACTOR" according to DS4

TV, DVD, VHS, Stereo w/ CD and Cassette. Laptop stand (music stand converted) w/ garbage bag for klenex droppings, and fridge will go online soon as I figure out something to put in it Punching bag needs to find a better home..

Resting from a hard workout. Behind DS7 is my shelves of Tri gear. Books and stuff on bottom, water and food, etc next two shelves, and top shelf is spare parts. Came in handy today, saved about $200 in accessories when equipping my new bike!

Medals, Tires, and CR calendar. Um, maybe I need to go out there and update the month. D'Oh!

Ok - I showed you mine, show me yours!

Re: My Winter Retreat
You don't want to see mine.

Does your wife get annoyed at all the training...my hubby does from time to time.

I love the race tractor. I think I'll need to get one of those calendars next year. I won't pose in a bathing suit though.

I'm allowed to have my bike in the living room.

Will post pics soon, remind me if I forget.

Good photos, Ron, it's always fun to see how/where others do their tri-thing.

Re: My Winter Retreat
Nah-I'm surprised Don even did a half marathon with me last year.

He doesn't mind the bike in the living room-he's been known to hop on it once or twice.

really-my IM training takes no longer than 20 hours a week...MAX.

Re: My Winter Retreat
Ron, can you please come over and clean my garage???? PLEASE!!!!

If you are interested in seeing workout places, I took DH's new camera on a leaf hunting trip with my kids on the trail where I do almost all my runs. It is really beautiful, especially this time of year with all the leaves changing colors. Here are a couple of pics!!!

Re: My Winter Retreat
RonBo, cool stuff... you've got me thinking about my own set up, which I've been doing a lot of lately. Looks like the littlest one is laughing at you!

Kristine: Awesome pics. Thanks for sharing. Love to see those types, especially of the beautiful areas you run, and the kids out enjoying it, too. I think there's a leaf in that pile that's bigger than your daughter's head!

Just WAIT until you see mine... or at least the vision I have in my head for the Trainer room in my new house. Will take probably until end of year to get set up properly, including with the right "paint job," but just wait. I'm very excited! Motivation will be dripping just as much as the sweat the flows. Oh yeah!

Thor:

Too funny that you mentioned the leaf bigger than DD 's head. I told them if they could each find a leaf bigger than their own heads, they won a prize!!! The both succeeded!!

Re: My Winter Retreat
Winter? We don't need no stinkin' winter in SoCal.

Though I'd almost trade a computrainer for nice weather.... on second thought, [i]nah[i].

Your punching bag definitely needs a better home. And maybe a little brother named Speed Bag.

Nice winter set-up. Even if it is only June in your garage.

Re: My Winter Retreat
I really need to change where my trainer is setup in my garage. Right now all that I can see when I'm on the trainer is the side of our old refrigerator.

I don't even have a television that size in my living room. Hey, mind if I hang out with your cute kids and watch television with you? I could even bring my boys over ...

Re: My Winter Retreat
looks like mine, but only I am stuck with coach troy and no Computrainer....and no couch to chill out on after long indoor rides. Invite some friends over and 4 hours will seem like 2.
